Յուրաքանչյուրս անհատականություն ենք եւ մեր նմանը չկա. իհարկե սա ճշմարտություն է, սակայն լինում են դեպքեր, երբ մարդկանց արտաքին նմանությունն այնքան է, որ կարելի է նրանց շփոթել։

Քաղաքական շատ առաջնորդներ իրենց նմանակներին ունեն եւ, ըստ որոշ աղբյուրների, նրանց օգտագործում են իրենց անվտանգության համար։ Նմանակներ ունեին Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Բորիս Ելցինը, Իոսիֆ Ստալինը, իսկ մեր օրերում շատերը պնդում են, որ իրենց նմանակներին են որոշ դեպքերում օգտագործում Վլադիմիր Պուտինն ու Ռուսաստանի վարչապետ Դմիտրի Մեդվեդեւը։

Հայաստանում նմանակների «ինստիտուտը» չի զարգացել, սակայն մենք էլ ունենք գործիչներ, որոնք ունեն իրենց նմանակներին։

Իոսիֆ Ստալինը վախենում էր իր կյանքի համար եւ անձամբ էր ընտրում իր նմանակներին։ Նրա նմանակներից էր  ԽՍՀՄ արտիստ Ֆելիքս Դադաեւը։ Մինչեւ  1996 թիվը նրա մասին բոլոր վկայությունները գաղտնի էին, իսկ հետագայում հայտնվեց լուսանկար, որում նա Ստալինի կրկնօրինակն է։
