Հայաստանի պաշտպանության նախարարության և Ազգային ժողովի պաշտպանության և անվտանգության հարցերի հանձնաժողովի միջև նոր լարվածություն է առաջացել։ Սուրեն Պապիկյանը մտադիր է ամբողջությամբ իր վերահսկողության տակ վերցնել պաշտպանության նախարարությունը՝ հեռացնելով Անդրանիկ Քոչարյանի կողմից ժամանակին առաջարկված և տարբեր պաշտոնների նշանակված զինվորականներին և պաշտոնյաներին։ 2018 թվականի իշխանափոխությունից հետո Քոչարյանը բազմիցս փորձել է իր ազդեցությունը առավելագույնս տարածել պաշտպանության նախարարության վրա։

Մի քանի անգամ էլ Փաշինյանին առաջարկել է իրեն պաշտպանության կամ ներքին գործերի նախարար նշանակել, բայց վերջինիս նկատմամբ բավականին լուրջ անվստահություն կա, հենց բուն «Քաղպայմանագրում» կարծում են, որ Քոչարյանն ավելի շատ վտանգ է ներկայացնում Փաշինյանի իշխանության համար, քան անգամ ընդդիմությունը և Անդրանիկ Քոչարյանի ազդեցությունը պաշտպանության նախարարությունում մեծապես տարածվել է նրա նշանակած տարբեր մտերիմների միջոցով։

ՔՊ մեր աղբյուրի փոխանցմամբ Պապիկյանն առաջին հերթին մտադիր է ազատվել ռազմական ոստիկանության պետ, վերջերս գեներալ մայորի կոչում ստացած Աշոտ Զաքարյանից։ Վերջինս նախարարությանն առնչվող գրեթե ողջ տեղեկատվությունը փոխանցում է Անդրանիկ Քոչարյանին և վերջինս դրանք օգտագործում է իր սեփական նկրտումների համար։

Չի բացառվում, որ առաջիկայում Քոչարյանը ևս սկսի քննադատել պաշտպանության նախարարությանը և հանձնաժողովի տարբեր նիստերում բավականին կոշտ դրսևորումներ լինեն։ Սուրեն Պապիկյանն արդեն ամիսներ շարունակ ԱԺ պաշտպանության և անվտանգության հարցերի հանձնաժողովի նիստերին հրաժարվում է մասնակցել՝ ուղարկելով իր տեղակալներին, ինչը, ըստ մեր աղբյուրի, լարվածության ևս մեկ դրսևորում է։
