Հուլիսի 26-ին Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում ընդունեց ՀՀ-ում Իրաքի Հանրապետության դեսպանության գործերի նորանշանակ ժամանակավոր հավատարմատար դոկտոր Ալի Աբդուլկարեմ Ութավիին։

Մայր Աթոռից հայտնում են, որ հանդիպմանը ներկա էին նաև Իրաքի հայոց թեմի առաջնորդ Գերաշնորհ Տ. Օշական եպիսկոպոս Գյուլգյուլյանը և թեմի կենտրոնական վարչության ատենապետ տիար Կարապետ Գալուստյանը։

Նորին Սրբությունն իր բարեմաղթանքները բերեց ժամանակավոր հավատարմատարին և մաղթեց արդյունավոր ծառայություն իր առաքելության մեջ` կարևորելով երկու պետությունների միջև հաստատված փոխգործակցությունը և ժողովուրդների միջև պատմականորեն ձևավորված բարեկամական հարաբերությունները։

Խոսելով Իրաքի հայ համայնքի մասին` Նորին Սրբությունն իր գնահատանքը հայտնեց Իրաքի իշխանություններին համայնքի և թեմի նկատմամբ ցուցաբերվող հոգատար վերաբերմունքի համար։

Զրույցի ընթացքում Հայոց Հովվապետն անդրադարձավ նաև հայ ժողովրդի առջև ծառացած մարտահրավերներին, ինչպես նաև արցախահայության արդար իրավունքների պաշտպանության, Արցախի պատանդառված ռազմաքաղաքական ղեկավարության ու ռազմագերիների ազատ արձակման և Արցախի հոգևոր-մշակութային ժառանգության պահպանության խնդիրներին։ Այս առնչությամբ Նորին Սրբությունը հույս հայտնեց, որ միջազգային հանրության միջնորդական և հետևողական ջանքերի շնորհիվ հնարավոր կլինի տարածաշրջանում խաղաղություն ու կայունություն հաստատել։

Իր հերթին դոկտոր Ալի Աբդուլկարեմ Ութավին Նորին Սրբությանը հավաստիացրեց, որ ամեն ջանք ի գործ կդնի ամրապնդելու և զորացնելու երկու երկրների համագործակցությունը։ ժամանակավոր հավատարմատարն անդրադարձ կատարեց նաև Իրաքում իշխանությունների կողմից գործադրվող ջանքերին՝ ուղղված ազգային ու կրոնական փոքրամասնությունների համերաշխ գոյակցությանը և նրանց իրավունքների պաշտպանությանը։
