Ս.թ. հունվարի 15-ին Հայաստանի Հանրապետության հիմնադիր նախագահ Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանը ԱՄՆ Գլենդեյլ քաղաքի Glendale Memorial հիվանդանոցում ենթարկվել է աղիքային քաղցկեղի վիրահատության: Վիրահատությունը կատարել են հայտնի բժիշկներ՝ վիրաբույժ, դոկտոր Պետար Վուկասինը (Colorectal Surgery Institute) և ուռուցքաբան, դոկտոր Գալուստ Յուքարը (Pacific Shore Medical Group): Ետվիրահատական բուժումից հետո Տեր-Պետրոսյանը հունվարի 24-ին դուրս է գրվել հիվանդանոցից և այժմ ապաքինումը շարունակում է ազգականների տանը:

Տեր-Պետրոսյանն ու իր ընտանիքը խորին շնորհակալություն են հայտնում բուժող բժիշկներ պարոնայք Վուկասինին և Յուքարին, «Մեմորիալ» հիվանդանոցի տնօրենության նախագահ Ջեք Այվիին, հոգաբարձուների խորհրդի անդամներին, բուժքույրեր Նիլդային, Մա-Անին, Էմիլիին, Քեթլինին, Այվիին, Նոնային, հիվանդանոցի ողջ բժշկական անձնակազմին՝ նրանց կողմից ցուցաբերված պրոֆեսիոնալ բժշկական օգնության, հատուկ խնամքի և ջերմ մարդկային վերաբերմունքի համար:
