LIFE3-ամյա Կարինա Չիկիտովան՝ Յակուտիայից, պատրաստվում էր այցելել իր հայրիկին, ով ապրում էր հարևան գյուղում: Ճանապարհն անցնում էր անտառի միջով, բայց աղջկա մայը չէր անհանգստանում, քանի որ փոքրիկը շատ անգամներ էր արդեն գնացել այդ ճանապարհով: Հասնելով հարևան գյուղ՝ աղջիկը տանը չգտավ իր հայրիկին: Կարինան որոշեց փնտրել նրան մերձակա անտառում:
Նույնիսկ մեծահասակ տղամարդիկ այդ անտառ չէին մտնում առանց զենքի, քանզի ամեն պահի կարող էին գիշատիչ գազանի հանդիպել: Բայց փոքրիկն այդ ամենը այդքան էլ լավ չէր պատկերացնում։ Նրան այդ պահին հայրիկն էր հետաքրքրում։
Այն բանից հետո, երբ մի քանի ժամ անց Կարինան՝ իր փոքրիկ շնիկի հետ, տուն չվերադարձավ, նրա ծնողները հասկացան, որ աղջիկը մոլորվել է և կայնքը վտանգի տակ է:
Մայրն ու հայրն իրենց էին մեղադրում: Տարբեր փրկարար խմբեր էին զբաղվում Կարինայի որոնումներով: Բայց անօգուտ: Անցավ 10 օր, և ծնողներն արդեն սկսել էին համակերպվել ամենավատ մտքի հետ, որ կարող էր պատահած լիներ: Ամեն ինչ փոխվեց 11-րդ օրը, երբ տուն վերադարձավ աղջկա փոքրիկ շնիկը:
Փրկարարները մտածեցին, որ շունը թողել է աղջկան անտառում, որովհետև նա մահացել է: Բայց տուն մտնելուն պես՝ շունը նորից շտապեց դեպի խուլ մացառուտները: Ծնողները հասկացան, որ պետք է հետևեն շնիկին:
Մի քանի կիլոմետր շան հետևից գնալով՝ փրկարարները տեսան աղջկան: Նա ողջ և առողջ էր, և վախեցած աչքերով նայում էր մարդկանց: Փոքրիկը գտնվում էր ուժասպառ վիճակում, նա շատ քաղցած էր և մրսած:
Տանն աղջկան սպասում էին ծնողները: Ավելի ուշ Կարինան պատմեց, թե ինչպես էր կերել հատապտուղներ, խոտ և տերևներ, որպեսզի կարողանա ողջ մնա:
Իսկական հերոսուհի: Քաջ շնիկն իր հաչոցով հեռու էր վանել գայլերին և արջերին: Նրանք միմյանց տաքացրել են տասը օր: Շան շնորհիվ՝ Կարինայի պատմությունը երջանիկ ավարտ է ունեցել: Ի պատիվ քաջ չորքոտանի ընկերոջը՝ Յակուտիայի բնակիչները նրա արձանն են կանգնեցրել, որը խորհրդանշում է ընկերություն, հավատարմություն և սեր:
