Երևանը սեյսմիկ վտանգի քարտեզի վրա համարվում է 9 բալանոց գոտի: Այդ մասին մամուլի ասուլիսի ժամանակ, անդրադառնալով այն հարցին, թե Երևանում 9 բալանոց երկրաշարժի դեպքում ի՞նչ հետևանքներ կարող են լինել, ասաց Սեյսմիկ պաշտպանության տարածքային ծառայության տնօրեն Սոս Մարգարյանը:

«Խորհրդային միության տարիներին Հայաստանի ամբողջ տարածքի համար սեյսմիկ վտանգը թերագնահատված է եղել: Եթե այսօր ունենք 8,9, 10 բալանոց գոտիներ, ԽՍՀՄ քարտեզի համապատասխան՝ ունեինք ընդամենը 2 գոտի՝ 7 և 8 բալանոց: Արդյունքում կառուցապատումը իրականացվել է 7 և 8 բալերի համար: Պատճառը դա է, երբ ասում ենք, որ ունենք բարձր սեյսմիկ ռիսկ, շենքերը խոցելի են, այսինքն  կառուցված են ավել ցածր սեյսմիկ վտանգի համար, քան անրաժեշտ է: Եթե լինի 9 բալանոց երկրաշարժ, մենք կունենաք հետևանքներ, քանի որ Երևանը գտնվում է 8 բալանոց գոտում»,- ասաց նա:  

Մարգարյանը նշեց, որ Երևանում կա երկու խզվածք, որ կարող է ուղղակի ազդեցություն ունենալ:

«Առաջինը՝ երևանյան  խզվածքն է, որը գտնվում է  քաղաքի հյուսիսարևմտյան մասում, երկրորդը Գառնիի խզվածքն է: Այս երկու խզվածների տարբերությունն իրենց պոտենցիալի մեջ է: Երևանի խզվածքի պոտենցիալը համեմատաբար փոքր է Գառնիից:

Երևանը միլիոնանոց բնակչություն ունեցող քաղաք է, տարբեր կարծիքներ կան, որ շատ զոհեր կունենանք՝ մոտ 300.000, բայց եթե զուգահեռ տանենք Թուրքիայի միլիոնանոց քաղաքի հետ, որտեղ  2023 թվականին երկարաշարժ եղավ, կտեսնենք զոհերի թվի տարբերությունը: Պաշտոնական տվյալներով մոտ 50-60 հազար զոհ կար»,-ասաց Սեյսմիկ պաշտպանության տարածքային ծառայության տնօրենը:

Անդրադառնալով այն հարցին, թե Երևանում շենքերի քանի տոկոսն ունի բարձր խոցելիություն, Մարգարյանը նշեց. «Ամբողջ շենքերը բնականաբար չեն փլվի, կան տարբե խոցելիությամբ շենքեր: Երևանում  բարձր խոցելի են շենքերի 45 տոկոսը»:
