«Ազատություն»․ Հայաստանում առաջին անգամ արձանագրվել է մոծակից մարդուն փոխանցվող՝ Արևմտյան Նիլ կոչվող վիրուսը, մեկ մարդ մահացել է, շուրջ 20-ը՝ հոսպիտալացվել:
Հիվանդությունների վերահսկման և կանխարգելման ազգային կենտրոնի (ՀՎԿԱԿ) տվյալներով՝ նրանց վիճակը գնահատվում է միջինից մինչև ծանր, ամենաերիտասարդը 25, տարեցը 65 տարեկան է: Բոլորն էլ ունեն խրոնիկ ու ծանր հիվանդություններ, մահացողը նույնպես ռիսկային գոտում է եղել, տարիքը՝ 60-ից բարձր: Վիրուսը բարդացման փուլում կարող է առաջացնել ընդհուպ մինչև ուղեղի թաղանթի կամ ուղեղի բորբոքում կամ երկուսը միասին՝ մենինգոէնցեֆալիտ:

Հիվանդությունների վերահսկման և կանխարգելման ազգային կենտրոնի տնօրեն Ստեփան Աթոյանն ասում է՝ առողջ մարդիկ այն թեթև են տանում։ Հիվանդությունը հստակ բուժում չունի, միայն ըստ ախտանշանների է բուժումը նշանակվում, չկա նաև պատվաստանյութ այս վարակի դեմ։
