Պեդրո Ագրամունտն ընտրվել է ԵԽԽՎ նախագահ

Այսօր Ստրասբուրգում սկսված ԵԽԽՎ ձմեռային լիագումար նիստում իսպանացի պատգամավոր Պեդրո Ագրամունտն ընտրվել է կառույցի նախագահ: Այդ պաշտոնում նա փոխարինել է ԵԽԽՎ նախագահ Անն Բրասսերին:
Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, Ագրամունտը եղել է ԵԽԽՎ-ում Եվրոպական ժողովրդական կուսակցության խմբակցության նախագահը:
ԵԽԽՎ նախագահի պաշտոնում թեկնածուները կառույցի քաղաքական խմբակցությունների կողմից առաջադրվում են «ջենտլմենական համաձայնությունների» հիման վրա` քաղաքական խմբերի միջեւ համաձայնվեցված ռոտացիայի սկզբունքով: Այս անգամ հերթը Եվրոպական ժողովրդական կուսակցության խմբինն էր, որը ղեկավարում էր Պեդրո Ագրամունտը: Նրա թեկնածությունն իր խմբի կողմից առաջադրվել էր դեռեւս անցյալ տարի: Պեդրո Ագրամունտն այդ պաշտոնում պետք է աշխատի մինչեւ 2018 թվականը:
Իսպանիայի Վալենսիա նահանգից ընտրված պատգամավոր Պեդրո Ագրամունտը ԵԽԽՎ-ում ներկայացված է 2000 թվականից: Այս տարիների ընթացքում նա Միությունում աշխատել է կոմիտեի նախագահ: Բազմաթիվ զեկույցներ է պատրաստել, ինչպես նաեւ 2010-2015 թվականներին աշխատել է Ադրբեջանի գծով համազեկուցողի պաշտոնում:
Ադրբեջանական ԶԼՄ-ները հայտնում են, որ «Ադրբեջանի մեծ բարեկամ Պեդրո Ագրամունտը ակտիվ հակառակորդ է հանդիսացել Ադրբեջանում քաղաքական բանտարկյալների մասին 2013 թվականի հունվարին Քրիստոֆեր Շտրասերի պատրաստած զեկույցի ընդունման ժամանակ»: Դրանից հետո Ադրբեջանում ուժեղացել է հասարակական ակտիվիստների եւ լրագրողների ձերբակալությունների ալիքը:
