Գիտնականները վերլուծել են տասը բարձրորակ հետազոտություն, որոնց մասնակցել է ավելորդ քաշով ու ճարպակալումով 646 մեծահասակ։ Արդյունքում պարզվել է, որ առնվազն երեք ամիս կանոնավոր պարով զբաղվելը բարելավում է մարմնի վիճակն ավելորդ քաշի ու ճարպերի մակարդակի նվազեցման շնորհիվ։ Բացի այդ, պարերը նպաստում են նաև գոտկատեղի չափերի փոփոխությանը, ինչն ավելի վաղ գիտնականները կապել էին շաքարային դիաբետի, զարկերակային գերճնշման, սրտամկանի ինֆարկտի ու գլխուղեղի կաթվածի զարգացման ցածր վտանգի հետ։
Ընդ որում, հետազոտությունները ցույց են տվել, որ ջազը և հիփ-հոփն ավանդական պարերի՝ բալետի ու պարահանդեսային պարերի համեմատ օգնում էին ազատվել ավելի շատ ճարպերից ու ավելի լավ արդյունք էին ապահովում:
Ինչպես ընդգծում են գիտնականները, թեև սովորական աերոբիկայի և մարզումների ժամանակ ևս նկատվում է ճարպի նման կորուստ, այնուամենայնիվ պարն ավելի արդյունավետ է քաշը նվազեցնելու հարցում, ինչպես նաև պարի դեպքում մարդիկ ավելի քիչ են հոգնում, ինչի շնորհիվ կանոնավոր վարժություններից չհրաժարվելն ավելի հեշտ է լինում:
