Մահացել է Կարեն Սվասյանը

76 տարեկանում մահացել է հայտնի փիլիսոփա, թարգմանիչ, գրականագետ, պատմաբան և մշակույթի պատմաբան Կարեն Սվասյանը։
1965-1970 թթ. Երևանի Պետական Համալսարանի բանասիրական ֆակուլտետում Կարեն Սվասյանն ուսանել է փիլիսոփայություն, ինչպես նաև անգլիական, ֆրանսիական և գերմանական բանասիրություն։
1971 թվականից աշխատանքի է անցել ՀՍՍՀ Գիտությունների ակադեմիայի փիլիսոփայության և իրավունքի ինստիտուտում։
1978 թվականին պաշտպանել է թեկնածուական թեզ՝ «Ա. Բերգսոնի ինտուիտիվ փիլիսոփայության գեղագիտական էությունը» թեմայով, իսկ 1981 թվականին դարձել է փիլիսոփայական գիտությունների դոկտոր («Խորհրդանիշի խնդիրը ժամանակակից փիլիսոփայության մեջ»)։ 1985 թվականից Երևանի պետական համալսարանի պրոֆեսոր է։
1990 թվականին կազմել, որոշ գործեր թարգմանել, ծանոթագրել և իր առաջաբանով Մոսկվայում հրատարակել է Ֆրիդրիխ Նիցշեի երկերի հանրահռչակ երկհատորյակը, որով նա սկիզբ է դրել ռուս իրականության մեջ հեղափոխությունից հետո ընդհատված նիցշեագիտության վերականգնմանը։
1992 թվականին տեղափոխվել է Շվեյցարիա։
1994 թ. Բոննում արժանացել է Ա. Ֆ. Հումբոլդտի անվան մրցանակին։
1997 թվականին հրավիրվել է Ինսբրուքի համալսարան՝ իբրև պրոֆեսոր, ուր փիլիսոփայության և սլավիստիկայի ֆակուլտետում դասավանդել է ճանաչողության տեսություն, սիմվոլի և գեղարվեստական թարգմանության տեսություն։
Նա ապրում և ստեղծագործում էր Բազելում։ Դասախոսություններ էր կարդում Գերմանիայում, Շվեյցարիայում, Ավստրիայում, Ռուսաստանում։
Գրում էր գերմաներեն և ռուսերեն։ Կ. Սվասյանի յուրաքանչյուր նոր գիրք փիլիսոփայական շրջանակներում ընդունվում է իբրև երևույթ։ Ուղենշային են նրա «Անասացության ձայներ» – «Голоса безмолвия» (Երևան 1984), «Եվրոպական գիտության գոյավորումը» – «Становление европейской науки» (Երևան, 1990), «Եվրոպա։
Երկու մահախոսական» – «Европа. Два некролога» (Մոսկվա, 2003), «Ապանույնականացումներ» – «Растождествления», (Մոսկվա, 2006), «Մարդը նույնականացումների լաբիրինթոսում» – «Человек в лабиринте идентичностей», (Մոսկվա, 2009) գրքերը։ Առաջինն է ամբողջությամբ ռուսերեն թարգմանել Ռ. Մ. Ռիլկեի «Սոնետներ Օրփեոսին» շարքը։
