ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Սուրեն Պապիկյանն աշխատանքային այց է կատարել Հարավային Կորեա։ Ըստ պաշտոնական հաղորդագրության, Պապիկյանը մասնակցել է նախարարական աշխատանքային ճաշին և քննարկումներին, քննարկվել են գագաթնաժողովի թեմային՝ արհեստական բանականության ռազմական նշանակությամբ պատասխանատու կիրառման խրախուսմանն առնչվող հարցեր: Մի շարք գործընկերների ու միջոցառմանը մասնակցող փորձագիտական շրջանակի հետ քննարկվել են նաև միջազգային և տարածաշրջանային անվտանգության մարտահրավերներին ու երկկողմ և բազմակողմ հարաբերությունների զարգացմանն առնչվող հարցեր: Թեպետ չի նշվում, բայց Պապիկյանի այցի հիմնական ուղղություններից մեկը միջուկային էներգիան է, մասնավորապես, կորեական շարժական ատոմակայանի կառուցման հնարավորությունները։

Իշխանությունը հենց Պապիկյանին է գործուղել այդ հարցերը քննարկելու, որպեսզի ավելորդ խնդիրներ չհարուցի։ Ի վերջո, Սուրեն Պապիկյանը եղել է տարածքային կառավարման նախարարը, լավ տեղյակ է ատոմակայանի և հարակից հարցերից։ Կորեան ԱՄՆ և ՌԴ հետ այն պետություններից է, որ Հայաստանին նոր ռեակտոր կառուցելու առաջարկ է արել: Ռուսական առաջարկից Փաշինյանը մտադիր է հրաժարվել, նաև Արևմուտքի թելադրանքով։

Այս օրերին սկսվել են Հայաստանում միջուկային էներգիայի արտադրության ժամանակակից աղբյուրի կառուցմանը միտված ուսումնասիրությունները։ Աշխատանքները, որոնց արդյունքների ամփոփման առավելագույն ժամկետը 2025 թվականի գարունն է, հայ գործընկերների հետ համագործակցությամբ իրականացնում են ամերիկյան հեղինակավոր ընկերություններից մեկի մասնագետները։

Պաշտոնական Երևանը նաև չի ցանկանում, որ հենց ԱՄՆ-ին հանձնի կապալը, քանի որ այդ դեպքում խնդիրներ են ծագելու Մոսկվայից։ Արդյունքում, ամենահավանական տարբերակը, հենց ամերիկյան կազմակերպության առաջարկով, դիտարկվելու է կորեականը։ Իշխանությունն էլ կփորձի համոզել, թե արևմտյան չէ նախագիծը, մինչդեռ Հարավային Կորեան ԱՄՆ առանցքային գործընկերներից մեկն է։
