Секретная служба США опубликовала в среду в социальных сетях сообщение, которое теперь удалено, в котором случайно почтила память всех 2996 человек, погибших 11 сентября 2001 года, в том числе 19 угонщиков самолетов, сообщает Daily Caller .
«Флаг, висящий в нашей штаб-квартире, является торжественным напоминанием о событиях 11 сентября и цели нашей миссии. Это свидетельство свободы и самопожертвования, дань уважения всем 2996 погибшим, включая нашего главного специального офицера Крейга Т. Миллера и ответственного специального агента Чарльза Л. Френда», - написала организация в своем микроблоге в Х.
Судя по всему, Секретная служба закрыла этот пост вскоре после трех часов дня в среду, пишет СМИ.
Число в 2996 человек включает 19 террористов «Аль-Каиды», которые захватили четыре самолета и совершили теракты.
По данным службы 911 memorial.org, в результате теракта погибли 2977 человек. Общее число погибших, вместе с 19 угонщиками самолетов, составляет 2996 человек.
