Այսպես, Հարվարդի ֆիզիկոս Հայնց ֆոն Ֆորսթերի և նրա գործընկեր գիտնականներ Պատրիսիա Մորայի և Լորենս Ամիոտի կողմից 1960 թվականին հրապարակված ուսումնասիրության համաձայն՝ աշխարհի վերջը կգա 2026 թվականի նոյեմբերի 13-ին։ Գիտնականներին այս տեսակետը հուշել են իրենց ստացած մաթեմատիկական բանաձևի հիման վրա կատարված հաշվարկները, որոնց համաձայն ապոկալիպսիսի գալուստը կհանգեցնի Երկրի բնակչության չափազանց արագ աճը:
Իրենց աշխատանքում գիտնականները բացատրել են, որ եթե անգամ ինչ-որ հրաշքով հնարավոր լինի ապահովել Երկրի ողջ բնակչությանը սննդով և եթե մարդիկ կարողանան խուսափել աղետներից, սոցիալական և էկոլոգիական համակարգերը կփլուզվեն կենդանի էակների ավելցուկի պատճառով:
