Օրեր առաջ Բեյրութում հանդիսավորությամբ ընդունել են Գրիգոր Պետրոս Աղաջանյանի՝ Հռոմից Լիբանան փոխադրված  մարմինը, որը հատուկ արարողությամբ ամփոփվել է Բեյրութի Սուրբ Եղիա եկեղեցու բակի շիրմատանը: Ըստ ականատեսների ու հրապարակված լուսանկարների՝ վախճանումից 53 տարի հետո կարդինալի մարմինը մնացել է նույն վիճակում՝ անփուտ։ 

«Սա իսկական հրաշք կարելի է դիտարկել ու կարևոր նախադրյալ երանացման ու սրբադասման համար: Սակայն, չգիտեմ թե ինչու հատկապես հայ ժողովուրդն այդքան ցնծության մեջ էր։ Ես բացարձակ չեմ տարանջատում տեղացի ու ամբողջ կյանքը սփյուռքում ապրած հային, այս դեպքում հաշվի եմ առնում նրա գործունեությունը։ Գրիգոր-Պետրոս Աղաջանյանը Հռոմի կաթոլիկ եկեղեցու հայազգի գործիչ է, որ 1742 թվականից ի վեր Կիլիկիայում ստեղծեց պատրարքություն ու գործում էր ընդդեմ Հայ առաքելական Սուրբ եկեղեցու։ Ովքեր չեն ճանաչում կարդինալին, ասեմ, որ նա հայ հոգևորականների ու Հայասատանյաց առաքելական եկեղեցու հետ հաշտ չէր»,-MediaHub-ի հետ զրույցում նշեց ՀԱԵ հավատացյալներից մեկը։


Հայ օգտատերերը սոցիալական ցանցերում քանի օր է տարածում ու կիսվում են կարդինալի մասին տեղեկություններով։ Մեր զրուցակիցն ասում է՝ հայկական ծագումն է այդքան ուրախացրել հայ ժողովրդին։ Սակայն, Գրիգոր Պետրոս կաթողիկոսը առաքելական եկեղեցու հետ կապ չունի։ 

 

«Իհարկե՛, նա չի մոռացել իր հայկական արմատները, Հռոմում նպաստել է հայագիտությանը, դրվատելի գործեր ուներ, բայց հայ հոգևորականների կողմից նա այդպես էլ չի ընկալվել։ Կարծում եմ՝ հայ հոգևորականը պետք է քրիստոնյա լինի, ոչ թե կաթոլիկ։ Քչերը գիտեն, որ Գրիգոր Պետրոս Աղաջանյանը 2 անգամ Հռոմի պապ է ընտրվել, բայց այդպես էլ նա չի ղեկավարել, տապալվել է»,-ընդգծեց նա։
