МИД РА распространил заявление о перемещении населения Нагорного Карабаха в результате нападения Азербайджана и необходимых шагах, которые должно предпринять международное сообщество. В нем говорится:

"Год назад, 19 сентября, в результате военного нападения Азербайджана все коренное население Нагорного Карабаха, более 115 тысяч армян, в течение нескольких дней было вынуждено покинуть свои дома. Эта насильственное перемещение, ставшее последним этапом политики этнической чистки, произошла в ходе сессии Генеральной Ассамблеи ООН, когда все международное сообщество в очередной раз обсуждало необходимость мирного урегулирования конфликтов, установления стабильности и развития, осудив применение силы, а также нарушение международных норм и прав человека в разных частях мира.

За прошедший год правительство Республики Армения, в том числе при поддержке международных партнеров, предприняло все необходимые шаги для обеспечения неотложных и среднесрочных потребностей вынужденно перемещенных армян Нагорного Карабаха, а также для разработки необходимых программ на долгосрочную перспективу.

Обсуждения на высоком уровне Генеральной Ассамблеи ООН вновь стартуют на следующей неделе в Нью-Йорке. События прошлого года продемонстрировали важность безотлагательных усилий по обеспечению международной стабильности, реализации идей и шагов, способствующих установлению мира.

Позиция Республики Армения по вопросу обеспечения устойчивости на Южном Кавказе конкретна и ясна: скорейшее установление мира и отношений, основанных на уважении суверенитета и территориальной целостности, на видении устойчивого развития, эффективной взаимосвязанности и благосостояния в регионе. Мы ожидаем от других заинтересованных в этом участников необходимой политической воли и четкой демонстрации приверженности мирной повестке, чтобы не упустить возможность воплотить в жизнь вышеупомянутый подход и создать условия, способствующие более стабильной и достойной жизни для будущих поколений".
