ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը հայտնել է, որ Իրանը փորձում է սպանել իրեն: Այս մասին գրում է BBC-ն:
«Իմ կյանքին Իրանի կողմից մեծ սպառնալիքներ կան: ԱՄՆ-ի ամբողջ ռազմական թևը հետևում և սպասում է: Իրանի կողմից արդեն արվել են քայլեր, որոնք հաջողություն չեն ունեցել, բայց նրանք նորից կփորձեն: Ոչ մեկի համար լավ իրավիճակ չէ: Ես շրջապատված եմ ավելի շատ մարդկանցով, զենքերով, քան նախկինում: Շնորհակալություն Կոնգրեսին Գաղտնի ծառայությանն ավելի շատ գումար հատկացնելու համար. ոչ ոք դեմ չի արտահայտվել: Հաճելի է տեսնել, որ հանրապետականներն ու դեմոկրատները միավորվում են ինչ-որ բանի շուրջ: Նախկին նախագահի վրա հարձակումը մահափորձ է հարձակվողի համար», - X-ում գրել է նախագահի թեկնածուն:
Թրամփի նախընտրական շտաբի հաղորդակցության գծով տնօրեն Սթիվեն Չյունգը երեքշաբթի երեկոյան իր հայտարարության մեջ նշել է, որ Ազգային հետախուզության տնօրենի գրասենյակի պաշտոնյաները նախկին նախագահին տեղեկացրել են «Իրանի կողմից սպանության իրական և կոնկրետ սպառնալիքների մասին՝ ԱՄՆ-ում իրավիճակն ապակայունացնելու և քաոս սերմանելու նպատակով»:
«Հետախուզության պաշտոնյաները հայտնաբերել են, որ այս շարունակական և համակարգված հարձակումներն ուժեղացել են վերջին մի քանի ամիսների ընթացքում, և բոլոր գերատեսչությունների իրավապահ մարմինների աշխատակիցներն աշխատում են ապահովելու նախագահ Թրամփի պաշտպանությունը և միջամտությունից զերծ ընտրությունների անցկացումը», - ասել է Չյունգը:
