«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Ռոմ արտադրողների մեջ կան շատ հայտնի ապրանքանիշեր, բայց բավական է անփորձ մարդուն հարցնել, թե ո՞ր ռոմ արտադրողներին են նրանք ճանաչում, և 10-ից 8-ը կտա Բակարդի անունը: Այդ հայտնի ապրանքանիշն ավելի քան 100 տարվա պատմություն ունի։ Իսկ ամեն ինչ սկսվել է այն ժամանակ, երբ գինու վաճառական Ֆակունդո Բակարդին որոշեց իր հայրենի Իսպանիայից տեղափոխվել Կուբայի Սանտյագո դե Կուբա քաղաք։ Կղզի ժամանելուն պես նա արագ հետաքրքրվեց ռոմով և որոշեց փորձել իր ուժերը այդ ըմպելիքի արտադրության մեջ: Ավելին, նա լավ տիրապետում էր գինիներին, ինչը նշանակում է, որ նա գիտեր, թե ինչ որակներ պետք է ունենա նուրբ ալկոհոլային խմիչքը։ Նա իր հիմնական խաղադրույքը կատարեց նուրբ, «թեթև» ռոմի արտադրության վրա։ Եվ, ինչպես պարզվեց ավելի ուշ, նա ճիշտ էր։

Բակարդի ապրանքանիշը գրանցվել է 1862 թվականին։ Բակարդի ռոմի խորհրդանիշը չղջիկն է։ Ենթադրվում է, որ այն հայտնվել է պիտակի վրա պարոն Բակարդիի կնոջ առաջարկով: Նա, իբր, իմացել է, որ տեղի բնակիչների շրջանում չղջիկը համարվում է առողջության և հաջողության խորհրդանիշ, և երբ նա տեսել է այդ կենդանիներին թորման գործարանում, պնդել է, որ ռոմի յուրաքանչյուր շշի վրա չղջիկ հայտնվի։ Ներկայում Բակարդի ապրանքանիշը ընդգրկված է աշխարհի ամենաթանկ խմիչքների ցուցակում։ Ընդ որում, Բակարդին պարզապես ռոմ արտադրող չէ, այն իսկական անդրազգային կորպորացիա է, որն ունի ալկոհոլային ըմպելիքների ավելի քան 100 ապրանքանիշ: Դրանց թվում է նախկին խորհրդային երկրներում տարածված Մարտինի վերմուտը։ Ավելի քան 6000 մարդ է աշխատում Բակարդիի 31 գործարաններում:

Կորպորացիայի տարեկան եկամուտը գերազանցում է 5 միլիարդ դոլարը։ Սակայն բուն ռոմի արտադրությամբ անմիջականորեն ներգրավված է 6 ձեռնարկություն։ Ներկայում չղջիկով շիշ կարելի է գտնել երկրագնդի յուրաքանչյուր անկյունում, իսկ աշխարհի ցանկացած բարում ձեզ համար կպատրաստեն ռոմով և կոլայով «Կուբա լիբրե» կոկտեյլ: Չնայած նման ծավալներին, Բակարդին դեռ զգուշությամբ է վերաբերվում ռոմի արտադրության բոլոր նրբություններին։ Բաղադրատոմսի բոլոր գաղտնիքները փոխանցվում են սերնդեսերունդ (այսօր ընկերության ղեկին Ֆակունդո Բակարդիի ծոռն է)։ Հայտնի է, որ այդ ըմպելիքի պատրաստման համար օգտագործվում են շաքարեղեգի ստորին հատվածները, որոնք հավաքվում են բացառապես ձեռքով։

Ձեռքի աշխատանքն օգտագործվում է ոչ միայն հումքի հավաքման ժամանակ, այլ նաև գործարաններում։ Գործընթացի նկատմամբ ողջ վերահսկողությունն իրականացվում է ոչ թե համակարգիչների, այլ մարդկանց կողմից: Հենց այդ ամենի շնորհիվ է, որ Բակարդի ռոմը արդեն 150 տարի աշխարհում ամենահայտնի ալկոհոլային խմիչքներից է։
