Աֆրիկայում շիմպանզեն կնոջ գրկից խլել է երեխային ու սպանել նրան, հայտնում գերմանական Bild պարբերականը: Սենի Զոգբան աշխատում էր դաշտում, երբ նրան է մոտեցել կապիկը, կծել ու ձեռքից խլել ութ ամսական երեխային։ Այնուհետև շիմպանզեն անհետացել է անտառում, որտեղ հետագայում հայտնաբերվել է երեխայի հոշոտված մարմինը:
Գյուղի բնակիչները, որոնց ներկայությամբ տեղի է ունեցել այս դժբախտությունը, որոշել են վրեժխնդիր լինել, ընդ որում՝ ոչ թե կապիկներից, այլ մոտակայքում շիմպանզեներին ուսումնասիրող Գվինեայի Բոսսու ինստիտուտի գիտնականներից: Կատաղած մարդիկ ներխուժել են ինստիտուտի շենք և ջարդուխուրդ արել ամեն ինչ, ոչնչացրել համակարգիչներ, փաստաթղթեր և անօդաչու թռչող սարքեր, իսկ վերջում հրկիզել են ինստիտուտի շենքը։
Բոսսու ինստիտուտը հաստատել է, որ այս տարի տարածաշրջանում շիմպանզեի արդեն վեց անգամ հարձակվել է մարդկանց վրա: Սակայն սա առաջին մահացու վախճանով դեպքն էր։
Times պարբերականի տվյալներով՝ Բոսսու ինստիտուտի ղեկավար Գեն Յամակոսին դժբախտ պատահարի օրը Ճապոնիայում է եղել։ Լրագրողների հետ զրույցում նա նշել է, որ շիմպանզեներն այլևս չեն վախենում մարդկանցից, իսկ որոշ դեպքերում, երբ կենդանիները խիստ բորբոքված են լինում՝ չեն կարողանում իրենց վերահսկել։
Բնապահպան Ալիջիու Սիլլան Reuters-ին տված մեկնաբանությունում ենթադրել է, որ շիմպանզեները սննդի անբավարարության և մարդկանց մոտենալու պատճառով լքում են իրենց սովորական բնակավայրը։
