ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենն այս շաբաթ իր վստահելիներին ու դաշնակիցներին ասել է, որ չի հավատում, որ Իսրայելի առաջնորդ Բենիամին Նեթանյահուն ցանկանում է դադարեցնել ռազմական գործողությունները լիբանանյան «Հեզբոլլահ» շարժման հետ՝ արտահայտելով աճող հիասթափությունը, որ հրադադարի առաջարկվող ծրագիրը ձախողել է, գրում է Politico-ն՝ վկայակոչելով բանակցություններին ծանոթ աղբյուրներ:
Բայդենի հետ զրուցած աղբյուրներից մեկն ասել է, որ նախագահը կարծում է, որ «Նեթանյահուն նվաստացրել է և՛ պետքարտուղար Էնթոնի Բլինքենին, և՛ անձամբ Բայդենին՝ «Հեզբոլլահի» հետ հրադադարի շուրջ իր վեճերով»։
Նեթանյահուն նախ ԱՄՆ պաշտոնյաներին ասաց, որ աջակցում է Լիբանանում տեղակայված զինյալների հետ մարտերի դադարեցմանը, այնուհետև վճռականորեն մերժել է հրադադարի առաջարկը, հենց որ այն հրապարակվել է:
Ուրբաթ օրը Վաշինգտոնում Արևմտյան թևի բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաները փորձում էին գնահատել Իսրայելի զանգվածային հարվածի ազդեցությունը Լիբանանում, ասել են վարչակազմի երկու պաշտոնյաներ:
«Բայդենը երկար ժամանակ մասնավոր դժգոհություն է հայտնել Նեթանյահուից՝ իր քաղաքական նպատակները իր ժողովրդի կամքից վեր դասելու համար՝ շարունակելով անտեսել ԱՄՆ-ի գլխավորած խաղաղ բանակցությունները, որոնք ուղղված են աճող ճգնաժամը թուլացնելուն: Արևմտյան թևում շատերը վաղուց թերահավատ էին, որ Նեթանյահուն ցանկանում է Գազայում ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի հետ զինադադար հաստատել: Իսկ այժմ վարչակազմը նույն մոտեցման շարունակությունն է տեսնում «Հեզբոլլահի» հետ կապված։ Բայդենի օգնականների համար Իսրայելի կողմից «Հեզբոլլահի» հետ հրադադարի առաջարկի մերժումը ընդամենը վերջին օրինակն էր, երբ վարչապետն ինչ-որ բան ասաց նրանց մասնավոր զրույցի ընթացքում, իսկ հետո վերադարձավ իր խոսքին, երբ նա մերժվեց իր կաբինետի ծայրահեղ աջ տարրերի կողմից, որոնք վերահսկում էին նրա քաղաքական ճակատագիրը»,- գրում է Politico-ն։
