Մեծ սաղավարտի 20-ակի հաղթող շվեյցարացի Ռոջեր Ֆեդերերն արձագանքել է իսպանացի Ռաֆայել Նադալի կարիերան ավարտելու մասին հայտարարությանը։
«Ինչպիսի՞ կարիերա էր, Ռաֆա: Ես միշտ հույս ունեի, որ այս օրը երբեք չի գա։ Շնորհակալություն անմոռանալի հիշողությունների և քո բոլոր անհավանական ձեռքբերումների համար մեր սիրելի խաղում: Քեզ հետ մրցելը պատիվ էր ինձ համար»,- գրել է Ֆեդերերը։
38-ամյա Ռաֆայել Նադալը հայտարարել է, որ կավարտի պրոֆեսիոնալ կարիերան 2024 թվականի Դևիսի գավաթի եզրափակիչ փուլից հետո, որը կանցկացվի նոյեմբերի 19-ից 24-ը Մալագայում (Իսպանիա)։
Իր կարիերայի ընթացքում Նադալը մենախաղում հաղթել է Ռոլան Գարոսում 14 անգամ, 2 անգամ հաղթել է Ուիմբլդոնում և Ավստրալիայի բաց առաջնությունում և 4 անգամ հաղթել ԱՄՆ բաց առաջնությունում։
