Омбудсмен РА пожаловалась послу Швеции на широкие масштабы нетерпимости в СМИ Армении

Защитник прав человека Анаит Манасян 14 октября приняла делегацию, возглавляемую чрезвычайным и полномочным послом Королевства Швеция в Республике Армения Патриком Свенсоном. Об этом сообщает офис омбудсмена.
Приветствуя гостей, Анаит Манасян представила послу важные направления работы защитника прав человека, которые, среди прочего, включают: права женщин, детей, национальных меньшинств, лиц с ограниченными возможностями, права человека в Вооруженных силах, борьбу с дискриминацией, разжиганием ненависти, атмосферой нетерпимости и другие сферы.
Омбудсмен сочла возможным сообщить послу о «широких масштабах нетерпимости» в стране, особенно в академических кругах, среди политиков и СМИ.
Анаит Манасян затронула также вопросы, касающиеся защиты прав лиц, насильственно перемещенных из Нагорного Карабаха, работ по сбору фактов, проведенных лично ею и ее аппаратом.
Были также обсуждены вопросы, связанные с экологическими правами, правом граждан на отдых.
В свою очередь посол Патрик Свенсон поблагодарил за прием и подчеркнул важность роли института защитника в осуществлении миссии по защите прав человека.
