Սաուդյան Արաբիայում տեղակայված Desert Technologies ընկերությունը պլանավորում է կտրուկ մեծացնել արևային վահանակների և մարտկոցների արտադրությունը՝ հետապնդելով թագավորության վերականգնվող էներգիայի նպատակները։

Desert Technologies-ը կառուցելու է 200 միլիոն դոլար արժողությամբ գործարան Ջիդդայում՝ տարեկան մինչև 5 ԳՎտ արևային էներգիայի հզորությամբ սարքավորումներ արտադրելու համար։ Գործարանը կունենա 170 հազար քառակուսի մետր տարածք և ներառի տարեկան 2 ԳՎտ արևային վահանակների և 3 ԳՎտ արևային բջիջների արտադրություն։ Ընդհանուր գումարը կազմում է թագավորության նպատակադրած հզորության քառորդ մասը, որը նախատեսված է մինչև 2030 թվականը:

Սաուդյան Արաբիան մեծացնում է կանաչ էներգիայի արտադրությունը ներքին պահանջարկը բավարարելու համար՝ զանազանելով դրա աղբյուրները՝ հեռանալով դինամիկ վառելիքից: Թագավորությունը նպատակ ունի մինչև 2030 թվականը ունենալ 130 ԳՎտ տեղադրված վերականգնվող էներգիայի հզորություն, ինչը պահանջելու է հսկայական ներդրումներ և արևային վահանակների հասանելիություն:

BloombergNEF-ի տվյալներով՝ անցած տարի երկրում տեղադրվել է պակաս, քան 2,5 ԳՎտ արևային էլեկտրակայաններ:

Չինական արտադրողները գերիշխում են ֆոտոէլեկտրական արևային վահանակների շուկայում, բայց Սաուդյան Արաբիան ցանկանում է օգտագործել ներքին կիրառումը՝ խթանելու սեփական արդյունաբերական զարգացումը:
