Ներկայացնում ենք թերթի առաջնորդողից մի հատված.
«Այսօր Հայոց բանակի օրն է, որն արդեն մի քանի տարի նշվում է՝ որպես տոն։ Ավանդույթի համաձայն՝ այսօր բանակի ու զինծառայողների մասին հնչում են պաթետիկ, երբեմն՝ ճոռոմ հայտարարություններ, որոնք, դրանց հեղինակների կարծիքով, առանձնակի շուք են հաղորդում տոնական օրվան։ Սակայն հայկական բանակը, հպարտության ու մեծարանքի առարկա լինելուն զուգահեռ, իսկ ավելի ճիշտ՝ նախ և առաջ՝ Հայաստանի Հանրապետության անվտանգությունն ապահովող, ըստ էության, միակ համակարգն է, թեև չպետք է լիներ այդպիսին։ Խոսքն այն մասին է, որ հատկապես վերջին տարիների ընթացքում, Հայաստանի ինքնիշխանության նվազման ու, որպես դրա հետևանք՝ ինքնուրույն արտաքին քաղաքականության գրեթե իսպառ բացակայության պայմաններում, բանակն ինչ-որ իմաստով և ինչ-որ մասով ստանձնել է նաև արտաքին քաղաքականությունն իրականացնողի գործառույթ։ Ու թեև դա իրականացվում է բավական բարձր մակարդակով, այդուհանդերձ, դա վկայում է Հայաստանի՝ որպես պետության, չկայացվածության մասին։
Սահմաններն ավելի արդյունավետ պաշտպանելու համար բանակը պետք է ունենա նաև հզոր թիկունք, որն առաջին հերթին՝ ապահովվում է ճկուն և համարժեք արտաքին քաղաքականությամբ։ Հայաստանի պարագայում, սակայն, արտաքին քաղաքականության ճկունությունն ու ընդհանրապես ամեն ինչը սկսվում և ավարտվում է այնտեղ, որտեղ հանդիպում է Ռուսաստանի շահին, իսկ այդ շահը Հայաստանին հետապնդում և պարտադրվում է ամենուրեք, գրեթե բոլոր ոլորտներում։ Ու այս պայմաններում Հայոց բանակն իրականացնում է իր գործառույթներն անգամ այնպիսի իրավիճակներում, երբ ստիպված է լինում միայնակ դիմակայել նույն այդ ռուսական շահից բխող ադրբեջանական հարձակումներին, երբ դիմակայում է առանց արտաքին քաղաքական թիկունքային աջակցության։ Հենց այս գործոնների ազդեցությամբ է, որ Հայկական բանակն առնվազն վերջին մի քանի տարիներին շատ ավելին Է, քան ուղղակի զինված ուժերը։ Հետևաբար, Բանակի օրն ինչ-
որ իմաստով նաև կարելի Է համարել Պետության օր, քանի որ պետական այլ ինստիտուտների նոմինալ գոյության ու փաստացի անգործության պայմաններում բանակը դարձել Է, ընդհանուր առմամբ, պետության եթե ոչ՝ միակ, ապա՝ ամենակարևորագույն համակարգերից մեկը»,–գրում է թերթը։
