Австралия направит Украине 14 военных катеров для использования в Черном море

Правительство Австралии направит безвозмездно Украине 14 военных катеров общей стоимостью более $9 млн. Об этом сообщил глава Минобороны страны Ричард Марлз.
В заявлении, распространенном оборонным ведомством, он указал, что новый пакет военной помощи «позволит Украине укрепить морскую безопасность и обеспечить береговую охрану». «Эти быстрые и маневренные катера, принадлежавшие австралийским вооруженным силам, нарастят морской потенциал ВСУ и помогут противостоять атакам со стороны России в Черном море», - утверждал Марлз.
Глава Министерства обороны Австралии также напомнил, что общий объем военной помощи, оказанной Канберрой Киеву, превышает 1,3 млрд австралийских долларов ($856 млн). Еще порядка 200 млн австралийских долларов (около $131 млн) было направлено в качестве гуманитарной помощи.
