«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Աբերֆելդի վիսկին ծնվել է Շոտլանդիայում: Այդ վիսկին չի կարելի շփոթել որևէ այլ ըմպելիքի հետ. այն ունի յուրահատուկ ոսկեմեղրագույն երանգ, նարնջի կեղևի նոտաներով և թեթև ծխեցված բուրմունք, իսկ համը մի փոքր յուղային է, մի քիչ մրգային ու... անթերի: Շոտլանդական այս վիսկիի հայրենիքը Գրամպիանա լեռներում ծվարած համանուն փոքրիկ գյուղն է: Աբերֆելդի վիսկու պատմությունը սկսվել է 1896 թվականին, երբ Դյուար, Թոմ և Ջոն Դևարի եղբայրների կողմից սպիրտի թորման գործարան է կառուցվել: Եղբայրները Շոտլանդիայում առաջին կուպաժիստ համարվող մարդու որդիներն էին: 1898 թվականին սպիրտի թորման գործարանը սկսել է աշխատել: Անմիջապես ակնհայտ է դարձել, որ Դևարի եղբայրները ժառանգել են վիսկին կուպաժավորելու իրենց հոր հայտնի տաղանդը: Բայց, չնայած դրան, նրանք չեն բացառել համագործակցությունը այլ բրենդների հետ:
 
Այսպիսով, 1925 թվականին Ուոլքերը և Բուչենենն են միացել նրանց: Չնայած այն հանգամանքին, որ Դևարներն սկզբից պլանավորում էին սովորական ածիկից վիսկի պատրաստել, նրանք, ի վերջո, անցել են միաածիկային վիսկու պատրաստման: Վիսկու թորման գործարանը գործում է ավելի քան մեկ դար, և արտադրությունն ընդհատվել է միայն պատերազմի տարիներին: Բանն այն է, որ պատերազմից հետո շենքը պետք է վերականգնվեր, և նրանց հաջողվել է պահպանել կառույցի հնագույն ճարտարապետության առանձնահատկությունները: Այսօր էլ այն Շոտլանդիայի ամենահայտնի զբոսաշրջային վայրերից է, որտեղ զբոսաշրջիկները կարող են տեսնել ինչպես բուն թորման գործարանը, այնպես էլ շոտլանդական հայտնի ալկոհոլային խմիչքի պատրաստման գործընթացը:
 
Աբերֆելդի վիսկու արտադրությունն իր առանձնահատկություններն ունի: Աբերֆելդի խառնուրդն առաջին անգամ օգտագործվել է որպես Dewars White Label, Johnnie Walker և Scottish Leader վիսկիների հիմք, և միայն 1988 թվականից սկսած է այն թողարկվել որպես Աբերֆելդի ապրանքանիշի մաքուր միաածիկային վիսկի: Միաածիկային արտադրությունը ենթադրում է, որ միայն գարու ածիկն է վերցվում որպես հումք՝ առանց այլ հացաբույսերի խառնուրդի, և պատրաստման գործընթացը ինքնին կենտրոնանում է մեկ թորման գործարանում, սակայն վիսկու հնեցման տարիները կարող են տարբեր լինել: Աբերֆելդին ունի 12 և 20 տարեկան վիսկիներ: Նման ըմպելիքն ավելի թունդ է և ունի ընդգծված բուրմունք և անսովոր համ: Արտադրության մեկ այլ գաղտնիք է տեղական լեռնային առուների ջրի օգտագործումը և արտադրական ավանդույթների պահպանումը, որը ենթադրում է փայտե տակառների օգտագործում և նվազագույն ժամանակակից տեխնոլոգիաներ:
