Իրանն ու Ռուսաստանը բանակցում են ռուսական ստանդարտ չափիչով երկաթուղու կառուցման շուրջ՝ Ադրբեջանի հետ սահմանին գտնվող իրանական Փարսաբադ քաղաքից մինչև Պարսից ծոցի ափին գտնվող իրանական ամենամեծ նավահանգիստ Բանդար Աբասը:Այս մասին, ինչպես փոխանցում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը, հայտարարել է Մոսկվայում Իսլամական Հանրապետության դեսպան Քազեմ Ջալալին, նրա խոսքերը մեջբերել է Իրանի նախագահի մամուլի ծառայությունը։
«Բացի Ռեշտ-Աստարա երկաթուղային գծից, ռուսները ցանկանում են ներդրումներ կատարել Փարսաբադից մինչև Բանդար Աբաս ռուսական ստանդարտ չափիչով երկաթուղու կառուցման մեջ»,- ասել է Ջալալին Թեհրանում Իսլամական Հանրապետության նախագահ Մասուդ Փեզեշքիանի հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ։
Փեզեշքիանը նշել է, որ «երկաթուղիների ընդլայնումը հյուսիսից հարավ օգուտ է բերում երկրի ժողովրդին ու տնտեսությանը և կարող է բավարարել Ռուսաստանի և Իրանի տնտեսական կարիքները» և կարգադրել է արագացնել Ռեշտ-Աստարա երթուղու կառուցումը։
