Մարդկանց  նախազգուշացվել է Candida auris վտանգավոր սնկային վարակի մասին, որը սպառնում է թուլացած իմունային համակարգ ունեցող մարդկանց, հատկապես նրանց, ովքեր ապաքինվել են COVID-19-ից։ Վարակումը կարող է զարգանալ հակաբիոտիկների անվերահսկելի օգտագործման պատճառով:

Դեղերը ճնշում են օրգանիզմի միկրոֆլորան, որը նպաստում է սնկերի աճին։ Candida auris-ը ազդում է աղեստամոքսային տրակտի, արյունատար անոթների, թոքերի և ուղեղի վրա, և վտանգի տակ են քրոնիկական հիվանդություններ և թուլացած իմունային համակարգ ունեցող մարդիկ:

Պրոֆեսոր Անչա Բարանովան բացատրել է, որ տանը դժվար է վարակվել. վտանգը ծագում է հիվանդանոցներում ինվազիվ ընթացակարգերից:

Ինֆեկցիայի համար կոնկրետ բուժում չկա, և վարակվելու դեպքում այն ​​կարող է տարածվել դեպի թոքեր և առաջացնել սեպսիս, հայտնում է LIFE-ը։
