ՀՀ ԶՈԻ հավաքականի անդամները 3 ոսկե, 3 արծաթե և 8 բրոնզե մեդալով ավարտել են մրցելույթները Երևանի Կ. Դեմիրճյանի անվան մարզահամերգային համալիրում անցկացվող զինվորականների ըմբշամարտի աշխարհի 37-րդ առաջնությունում:
Մրցումային վերջին՝ երրորդ օրը, Հայաստանի ներկայացուցիչներից մեդալակիրներ են դարձել հունահռոմեական ոճի ըմբիշ Կարեն Խաչատրյանն ու ազատոճային Մուշեղ Մկրտչյանը՝ կանգնելով պատվո հարթակի երրորդ աստիճանին:
87 կգ քաշային կարգի բրոնզե մեդալի համար գոտեմարտում Խաչատրյանը 3:1 հաշվով հաղթել է Շվեյցարիայի ներկայացուցիչ Դամիան Վոն Էյուվին, իսկ ազատ ոճի 92 կգ քաշային կարգի բրոնզե մեդալի համար գոտեմարտում Մկրտչյանը 5:5 հաշվով առավելության է հասել Հնդկաստանի ներկայացուցիչ Բաբասահեբ Փաթիլ Փրհութավիրայի նկատմամբ:
Այսպիսով՝ հայ ըմբիշները Երևանում անցկացված առաջնությունում 14 մեդալ են նվաճել:
Հայաստանի ներկայացուցիչներից ավելի վաղ զինվորականների ԱԱ-ի ոսկե մեդալները նվաճել էին՝ Գասպար Տերտերյանը (67 կգ), Սուրեն Աղաջանյանը (60 կգ) և Անդրանիկ Ավետիսյանը (65 կգ), փոխչեմպիոնի կոչմանն արժանացել էին՝ Էլեն Բաբաջանյանը (53 կգ), Սարգիս Բեգոյանը (61 կգ) և Տիգրան Մինասյանը (55 կգ), իսկ Հրաչյա Պողոսյանը (63 կգ), Շանթ Խաչատրյանը (72 կգ), Աշոտ Խաչատրյանը (77 կգ), Սամվել Գրիգորյանը (82 կգ), Հրայր Ալիխանյանը (74 կգ) և Արման Ավագյանը (79 կգ) դարձել էին բրոնզե մեդալակիրներ:
Զինվորականների ըմբշամարտի աշխարհի առաջնությանը մասնակցելու նպատակով Հայաստան էր ժամանել 24 երկրի պատվիրակություն (ավելի քան 400 անձ):
