Ռուսաստանն աշխատում է Հարավային Կովկասի «3+3» հարթակը լիարժեք կազմակերպության վերածելու ուղղությամբ։ Այս մասին «Ռուսաստան-Հայաստան» երկրորդ հանրային ֆորումի ժամանակ ասել է ՌԴ փոխարտգործնախարար Միխայիլ Գալուզինը, փոխանցում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը։
«Տարածաշրջանի բոլոր երկրների շահերի ներդաշնակեցման գործում մենք կարևոր տեղ ենք հատկացնում «3+3» տարածաշրջանային համագործակցության պլատֆորմին»,-ասել է Գալուզինը՝ նշելով, որ Մոսկվան, «ինչպես նախկինում, չի խուսափում իր բոլոր ուղիներով նպաստել հայ-ադրբեջանական հարաբերությունների կարգավորմանը»։
Հարավային Կովկասում համագործակցության վեցակողմ ձևաչափի նախաձեռնությունը սկսվել է 2020 թվականի վերջին՝ Ադրբեջանի և Թուրքիայի առաջնորդներ Իլհամ Ալիևի և Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի կողմից։ Այն հետագայում անվանվել է «3+3»: Ռուսաստանը և Իրանը ողջունել են այս գաղափարը, և Հայաստանը նույնպես միացել է այդ ձևաչափին։ Վրաստանը հայտարարել է, որ չի նախատեսում մասնակցել նախաձեռնությանը։ 2021 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 10-ին Մոսկվայում տեղի ունեցավ հինգ երկրների արտաքին գործերի փոխնախարարների մակարդակով խորհրդատվական տարածաշրջանային հարթակի առաջին հանդիպումը։
