Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոս Գարեգին Երկրորդի ձեռամբ՝ դեկտեմբերի 7-ին տեղի ունեցավ Գյումրիի Սուրբ Ամենափրկիչ եկեղեցու վերաօծման արարողությունը․ այս առիթով Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ էջմիածնից հավատացյալների երկրպագության համար Գյումրի էր բերվել Փրկչի Խաչափայտի մասունքը։

Եկեղեցու վերաօծման առիթով իր խոսքն ասաց Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոս Գարեգին Երկրորդը։

«Սիրելի՛ բարեպաշտ ժողովուրդ, գոհունակությամբ առ Բարձրյալ Աստված կատարեցինք Գյումրիի Սուրբ Ամենափրկիչ եկեղեցու վերօծման արարողությունը: Հոգևոր ցնծությամբ են լցված ամենքիս հոգիները՝ 150-ամյա այս տաճարը, որն ավերվեց 1988 թվականի ավերիչ երկրաշարժի հետևանքով, աղետից 36 տարի անց վերստին իր դռներն է բացում քրիստոսասեր ու ավանդապահ գյումրեցի հավատավոր մեր զավակների և ուխտավորների առջև:

Խորհրդանշական է, որ երկրաշարժի նույն օրը կատարում ենք տաճարի վերօծման արարողությունը: Մեր հոգիները, որոնք կրում են ողբալի իրադարձության վիշտն ու դեպքերը, եկեղեցու վերականգնման առիթով ուրախալի զգացմունքներով են պարուրվում՝ որպես առհավատչյան նաև այսօրվա մեր նեղությունների ու խնդիրների հաղթահարման: Մեր ազգի խաղաղ առաքելությամբ տասնամյակների ընթացքում մեր ժողովուրդն իր աշխատանքով ու բարեկամ ժողովուրդների աջակցությամբ շտկեց իր մեջքը և վերածնունդ առավ: Խոնարհված այս եկեղեցին ավերակների միջից վեր հառնեց Շիրակի թեմի բարեպաշտ ժողովրդի ու զորեղ հավատքի շնորհիվ:

Այսուհետ Տիրոջ ողորմությամբ և ձեր աղոթական մասնակցությամբ վերսկսվելու են աստվածապաշտական արարողությունները այս սուրբ եկեղեցու հարկի ներքո: Միշտ հիշե՛ք նվիրումի ու առ Աստված հավատքի շնորհիվ կառուցվող ու վերականգնվող ամեն մի սրբավայր դառնում է հույսի և զորության աղբյուր:

Անժխտելի ճշմարտություն է, որ մեր ժողովրդի հոգևոր կյանքը եկեղեցու շուրջ համախմբվելով է ծաղկում: Շիրակցիների հավատավոր ոգու յուրահատուկ խորհրդանիշ է այս սուրբ եկեղեցին: Սիրելինե՛ր, որքան ամուր դարձնենք մեր հավատքն, այնքան զորություն պետք է ունենանք՝ միասնաբար մեր կյանքի նեղությունները հաղթահարելու: Հայրապետական մեր պատգամն է ձեզ՝ միշտ լինեք ոգով անկոտրում և հոգևոր մեր արժեքները դարձնեք ամուր հիմքը միասնության: Միշտ շեն ու բանուկ պահեք ճանապարհը դեպի այս նվիրական Տաճար»,- նշեց Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը:
