Գեղեցկությունը վտանգավոր է դառնում կնոջ առողջության համար: Սակայն արդարության համար պետք է ասել, որ այդ սարսափները միայն մեր դարի ծնունդ չեն:

1.Կորսետներ կետի բեղերից
19-րդ դարում կանայք կրել են կետի բեղերից պատրաստված կորսետներ, որոնք հաճախ այնպես են ձգել, որ նրանց լյարդը պայթել է:
2.Մկնդեղ օրաբաժնում
19-րդ դարում կանայք մկնդեղ են օգտագւրծել, որպեսզի ունենան ծաղկող տեսք, փայլող աչքեր և լավ լիբիդո: Այն առաջացրել է կախվածություն, ինչպես նաև վահանագեղձի բորբոքում:
3.Ժապավենաձև որդեր
Նիհարելու համար կանայք խմել են որդերի ձվեր: Աղիներում զարգացել է ժապավենաձև որդը, որը սկսել է սնվել մարդու կերածով` աճելով մինչև 30 մ:
4.Ոտքերի վիրակապում
Փոքր ոտքեր ունենալը Չինաստանում համարվել է գեղեցկության նշան: 10-րդ դարում առաջացել է հետևյալ սովորույթը. աղջկա ոտքի մատները կապել են ներբանին և հագցրել շատ փոքր կոշիկ: Ոտքերն աստիճանաբար կորցրել են իրենց ձևը: Այդպիսի կանայք գործնականում չեն կարողացել քայլել:
5.Ռադիոակտիվ կոսմետիկա
1930 թվականներին ֆրանսիական արտադրողները թողարկել են կոսմետիկական Tho-radia շարքը, որտեղ ավելացրել են ռադիոակտիվ նյութեր:
6.Մահացու բելադոնա
Կանայք այդ թունավոր բույսի հյութը կաթեցրել են աչքերի մեջ: Դա լայնացրել է աչքերի բիբերը, ինչը համարվել է սեքսուալ: Սակայն կինը կարող էր դրանից կուրանալ:
7.Կապարե դիմափոշի
1700-ական թվականներին Եվրոպայում տարածված էր ծաղիկ հիվանդությունը, որը դեմքին սպիներ էր թողնում: Դրանք ծածկել են կապարե դիմափոշու հաստ շերտով: Սակայն կապարը առաջացրել է խոցեր, հանգեցրել է ուղեղի ուռուցքների և կաթվածների:
