Սիրիայի նախկին նախագահ Ասմա ալ-Ասադի կնոջ լեյկոզը բուժող բժիշկները նրան մեկուսացրել են այլ մարդկանցից։ The Telegraph-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ բժիշկները նրա ապրելու հնարավորությունը գնահատում են «50/50»։ 

«Ասման մահանում է։ Նա չի կարող որևէ մեկի հետ լինել նույն սենյակում ՝իր վիճակի պատճառով», - ասել է հրատարակության զրուցակիցներից մեկը, որը վերջին շաբաթներին զրուցել է Ասադի ընտանիքի ներկայացուցչի հետ։

Մեկ այլ աղբյուր, որը խոսել է Սիրիայի նախկին նախագահի ընտանիքի հետ Մոսկվայում, ասել է, որ «վերջին մի քանի շաբաթների ընթացքում նրա  վիճակը 50/50 է եղել»։

Ինչպես նշում է The Telegraph-ը, Բաշար ալ-Ասադի կնոջը մեկուսացրել են այլ մարդկանցից, որպեսզի խուսափեն վարակիչ  

Ենթադրվում է, որ 49-ամյա Ասմա Ասադը, որը երկակի սիրիական-բրիտանական քաղաքացիություն ունի, բուժման նպատակով եկել է Մոսկվա՝ Սիրիայում ամուսնու ռեժիմի տապալումից և Բաշար ալ-Ասադը Ռուսաստանում ապաստան ստանալուց անմիջապես առաջ։

Ասադի գրասենյակը դեռ 2024 թվականի մայիսին հայտնել էր, որ Սիրիայի այն ժամանակվա առաջին տիկնոջ մոտ ախտորոշվել է սուր միելոիդ լեյկոզ՝ ագրեսիվ քաղցկեղ, որն ազդում է ոսկրածուծի վրա: Ասմա Ասադը նախկինում բուժվել էր կրծքագեղձի քաղցկեղից, 2019 թվականի օգոստոսին հայտարարեց, որ լիովին ապաքինվել է։
