Արա Մկրտչյանը նշանակվել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում Հորդանանի Հաշիմյան Թագավորության պատվավոր հյուպատոս։ Պատվավոր հյուպատոսությունը գտնվում է Երևանում՝ Հյուսիսային պողոտա 1 հասցեում։
«Ինձ համար մեծ պատիվ է ստանձնել Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում Հորդանանի Հաշիմյան Թագավորության պատվավոր հյուպատոսի առաքելությունը։ Մեր նպատակն է, հիմնվելով Հայաստանի և Հորդանանի միջև եղած բարեկամական հարաբերությունների վրա, ավելի ամուր կապեր ստեղծել երկու պետությունների միջև, խթանել գործարար շփումները, առևտուրն ու ներդրումները, գիտակրթական կապերը, զարգացնել զբոսաշրջության ներուժը: Կարևորում եմ երկու երկրների միջև հարաբերությունների զարգացումը, տարբեր ոլորտներում համագործակցության խորացումը և համատեղ ծրագրերի իրականացումը։ Պատվավոր հյուպատոսությունը կծառայի որպես երկու երկրների միջև տնտեսական և մշակութային կապերի ամրապնդման հարթակ՝ աջակցելով գործարարներին, ներդրողներին, զբոսաշրջիկներին, ուսանողներին»,- նշել է Հայաստանում Հորդանանի պատվավոր հյուպատոս Արա Մկրտչյանը։
Արա Մկրտչյանը ծնվել է 1981 թվականին, Երևանում, ավարտել է ԵՊՀ-ի Միջազգային հարաբերությունների ֆակուլտետը, ծառայել է ՀՀ զինված ուժերում: Արա Մկրտչյանն ունի ավելի քան 20 տարվա ձեռնարկատիրական գործունեության փորձ, մասնագիտացած է շինարարության, էներգետիկայի, բազմաֆունկցիոնալ ձեռնարկությունների կառավարման գործում:
Հայաստանի Հանրապետության և Հորդանանի Հաշիմյան Թագավորության միջև դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունները հաստատվել են 1996 թվականին: Այս տարիների ընթացքում Հայաստանի և Հորդանանի միջև ստորագրվել են տարբեր ոլորտներին վերաբերող մի շարք երկկողմ համաձայնագրեր, տեղի են ունեցել երկու երկրների ղեկավարների պաշտոնական այցեր:
