«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Անցած տարեվերջին տեղեկություններ տարածվեցին, որ Մոսկվայում բերման է ենթարկվել «Համահայկական ճակատ» շարժման առաջնորդ, ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախկին նախարար, գեներալմայոր Արշակ Կարապետյանը։ Ավելին, կային տեղեկություններ, թե նա ձերբակալվել է, շուտով Ռուսաստանը նրան արտահանձնելու է Հայաստանի իրավապահներին և այլն:

«Փաստ» թերթը զանգահարեց Արշակ Կարապետյանին, որը մեզ հետ զրույցում նշեց, որ իրավական տեսանկյունից կարելի է համարել, որ իրեն բերման են ենթարկել: «Եղել է զրույց, և շատ կարճ ժամանակ անց ես արդեն իմ գրասենյակում սովորական աշխատանքային ռիթմին էի վերադարձել,-ասաց Կարապետյանը:-Ինչ վերաբերում է էքստրադիցիային (արտահանձնում-խմբ.), ապա այս դեպքում կարելի էր Հայաստանի իշխանություններին եռամատ կոմբինացիա ցույց տալ, սակայն, քանի որ ինքս չեմ վիրավորում ու չեմ հայհոյում, զերծ կմնամ դրանից»:

«Համահայկական ճակատ» շարժման առաջնորդը նշեց, որ հասկանում է Հայաստանի օրվա իշխանությունների ցանկությունները, բայց ինքը Հայաստան է գալու ոչ թե այն ժամանակ, երբ իրենք ցանկանան, այլ երբ ինքը հարկ կհամարի: «Հասկանալի են Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի ու նրա խմբակի անհանգստությունները իմ քաղաքական հայտից, «Համահայկական ճակատ» շարժման գործունեությունից ու Ազգային հպարտության տրիբունալի որոշումից: Պատահական չէ, որ իմ հետ կապված քրեական վարույթը «նկարվեց» իմ՝ քաղաքականություն մտնելու հայտարարությունից շատ կարճ ժամանակ անց: Նրանք շատ են ցանկանում իմ հետ կապված թեմաներն իջեցնել կենցաղային աստիճանի, ինձ «զբաղեցնել» այդ գործերով, այդ թեմաներով, բայց դա նրանց չի հաջողվելու: Ես ո՛չ արդարանալու, ո՛չ պաշտպանվելու կարիք չունեմ, և մեր խնդիրը լինելու է այս իշխանություններից օր առաջ ձերբազատվելը», - «Փաստի» հետ զրույցում ասաց Կարապետյանը:

Գեներալը նախ հիշեցրեց, որ ինքը ոչ մեկ անգամ առիթ ունեցել է ասելու, որ Հայաստան է գալու «պարադնի» մուտքով, ու այդ ժամանակ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը կհայտնվի այնտեղ, որտեղ նա տարբեր մանիպուլյացիաների միջոցով ցանկանում է իրեն տեսնել: «Հավատացեք, այդ ժամանակ Հայաստանի Հանրապետության քրեական օրենսգրքի բոլոր հոդվածները բավարար չեն լինելու՝ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին իր բոլոր հանցագործությունների համար ամբողջ ծավալով դատելու համար»,-նշեց Կարապետյանը՝ վերջում ծիծաղելով շնորհակալություն հայտնելով Հայաստանի օրվա իշխանություններին՝ իրեն այսպիսի PR ապահովելու համար:
