Հրդեհները Փասադենայի այն թաղամասերում են, որտեղ ամենաշատ հայերն են բնակվում. հայկական համայնքը մեծ վնասներ կրեց դրանց հետևանքով։ Այս մասին այսօր՝ հունվարի 10-ին, NEWS.am–ի հետ զրույցում ասաց  Փասադենայի Հայ Նազովրեցի եկեղեցու հոգևոր առաջնորդ Հովհաննես Հալաջյանը՝ նշելով, որ երկու օր առաջ այրվել է նաև քրիստոնեական «Սահակ-Մեսրոպ» դպրոցը, որտեղ երեխաները հայոց լեզու, պատմություն ու կրոն էին սովորում։

«Հայկական ուրիշ դպրոցներ էլ ունենք, այսօր իմացա, որ նրանք ժամանակավորապես իրենց դռներն են բացել «Սահակ-Մեսրոպ» դպրոցի աշակերտների առջև, մինչև հրդեհի վնասի հետքերը վերանան»,–ասաց նա։

Հովհաննես Հալաջյանի խոսքով, տարհանված հայերը ժամանակավորապես բնակություն են հաստատել հյուրանոցներում, մոտակա քաղաքներում՝ իրենց հարազատների տներում։

Գլենդեյլում իրավիճակն ավելի հանգիստ է, կրակը թեև մոտեցել է քաղաքին, սակայն այնտեղ հրդեհներ չկան, միայն ծուխն է։ NEWS.am–ի հետ զրույցում Գլենդելի քաղաքապետ Էլեն Ասատրյանը նշեց, որ այսօր առավոտյան հայտարարություն են տարածել, որ աջակցության կենտրոնում գտնվող քաղաքացիները կարող են իրենց տներ վերադառնալ։

«Ժամը 12-ին փակեցինք աջակցության կենտրոնի դռները, այս պահին դրա անհրաժեշտությունն այլևս չկա։ Գլենդելում կրակ չի եղել, հույս ունեմ, որ առաջիկայում էլ ապահով կլինենք»,–ասաց նա։

Գլենդելի քաղաքապետի խոսքով, չնայած դրան, քանի դեռ հրդեհն ամբողջությամբ չի մարվել, վտանգը դեռ չի անցել։

«Իհարկե, սա դեռ վերջը չէ։ Մենք լուր ենք ստացել, որ առաջիկա օրերի ընթացքում քամիները կարող են ավելի ուժգնանալ։ Որպես քաղաք մենք պատրաստ ենք դրան։ Ժողովրդին ասել ենք, որ առաջին անհրաժեշտության իրերով իրենց պայուսակները պատրաստեն»,–ասաց Գլենդեյլի քաղաքապետը։
