Число жертв пожара в Лос-Анджелесе увеличилось: губернатор призвал провести расследование

В результате серии разрушительных лесных пожаров в районе Лос-Анджелеса погибли по меньшей мере 11 человек, сообщает NBC News.
По информации властей, истинное число погибших неизвестно, поскольку пожары уничтожили целые улицы и более 12 000 строений.
Сухие условия и мощные ветры привели к возникновению по меньшей мере пяти пожаров, нанеся беспрецедентный ущерб в густонаселенных районах, не знающих пожаров. По прогнозам чиновников, сильные ветры вернутся в понедельник.
Пожар Палисейдс, площадь которого превысила 21 000 акров, локализован на 8%. В пятницу вечером из-за пожара была объявлена эвакуация жителей района Энсино. Пожар Итон в районе Пасадены, охвативший почти 14 000 акров, ликвидирован на 3%.
Губернатор штата Калифорния Говард Гэвин Ньюсом заявил, что призывает к проведению независимого расследования по поводу потери давления воды в местных пожарных гидрантах и сообщений о недоступности воды из водохранилища Санта-Инес.
По меньшей мере два человека погибли во время пожара, пытаясь защитить свои дома, а еще один остался с сыном, страдающим церебральным параличом и не имеющим возможности эвакуироваться.
