Байден до конца срока может помиловать лиц, неугодных Трампу

Глава уходящей американской администрации Джо Байден до заверения срока своих полномочий может в упреждающем порядке помиловать лиц, рискующих оказаться в немилости у избранного президента США Дональда Трампа. Об этом сообщила газета The Washington Post со ссылкой на источники.
Как пишет издание, несмотря на то, что многие сотрудники Белого дома собирают вещи перед инаугурацией Трампа, намеченной на 20 января, в администрации ожидают, что Байден в оставшийся промежуток времени подпишет еще несколько указов. В частности, демократ рассчитывает принять меры с целью борьбы с дискриминацией по половому признаку.
Кроме того, «Байден рассматривает возможность помилования в упреждающем порядке лиц, которые могут оказаться в немилости у администрации Трампа», подчеркивает газета. По мнению WP, активность Байдена в завершение его президентского срока «свидетельствует о его убежденности в том, что Трамп представляет уникальную угрозу американским традициям».
В начале декабря 2024 года Трамп в интервью телеканалу NBC News заявил, что не будет искать возмездия для своих противников, наилучшим способом возмездия, по его мнению, будет успех Соединенных Штатов.
