«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Հայտնի շոտլանդական Աբերլաուեր (Aberlour) վիսկին իր պատմությունն սկսել է 1830 թվականին Ֆլեմինգների ընտանեկան ֆերմայից, որը գտնվում էր այն գյուղի մոտ, որն էլ իր անունը տվել է այդ խմիչքին: Հենց այդ տարի է ֆերմեր Ֆլեմինգի ընտանիքում որդի ծնվել, որն ստացել է Ջեյմս անունը։ Երիտասարդ Ջեյմս Ֆլեմինգը, որ մանկուց սովոր էր իր հոր ֆերմայում քրտնաջան աշխատանքին, արդեն 20 տարեկանում հիմնել է իր սեփական փոքր առևտրային բիզնեսը Աբերլաուեր գյուղում: Նրա քրտնաջան աշխատանքի շնորհիվ բիզնեսը ծաղկել է։ Տասնհինգ տարի անց Ջեյմսը կարողացել է իրեն թույլ տալ վարձակալել Ruthrie սպիրտի թորման գործարանը, որը դժվար ժամանակներ էր ապրում։ Ինչպես պարզվել է ավելի ուշ, դա հաջող ներդրում է եղել, վիսկիի արտադրությունը սկսել է լավ եկամուտ բերել, և հինգ տարի անց Ֆլեմինգը վարձակալել է ևս մեկ թորման գործարան՝ Dailuainը, որը գտնվում էր Աբերլաուեր գյուղից ընդամենը 3 կիլոմետր հեռավորության վրա:

Պետք է ասել, որ Ջեյմսը, ինչպես նաև այն ժամանակվա վիսկիի շատ այլ արտադրողներ, իրենց հաջողության համար պարտական էին Ֆրանսիայում բռնկված, այսպես կոչված, «խաղողի ժանտախտին»՝ ֆիլոքսերային։ Գինու արտադրությունը աղետալիորեն ընկել էր, և թագավորական արքունիքը ստիպված էր փոխարինող փնտրել ֆրանսիական խմիչքների համար: Հենց Aberlauer-ն է դարձել այն առաջին վիսկիներից մեկը, որը անգլիացի գործարարները սկսել են մեծ քանակությամբ գնել։

1874 թվականին Ջեյմս Ֆլեմինգը դարձել է Շոտլանդիայի Հյուսիսային բանկի տեղական մասնաճյուղի ղեկավար։ Այդ ժամանակ էլ ավարտվում էր Dailuaine թորման գործարանի վարձակալության ժամկետը, և Ջեյմսը, լինելով հեռատես գործարար, որոշում է չերկարաձգել վարձակալությունը, այլ ծախսել գումարը սեփական թորման գործարան կառուցելու վրա։ Այդ նպատակով գնվել է Ruthrie թորման գործարանը, որից հետո այն ենթարկվել է լուրջ արդիականացման։ Արդյունքն այն ժամանակների համար իրապես ժամանակակից գործարանն էր՝ իր հետագա զարգացման և արդիականացման մեծ ներուժով։ Այդ ձեռնարկությունն իր աշխատանքը սկսել է 1879 թվականին։ Ֆլեմինգի ձեռնարկության հետ միասին ծաղկում է ապրել նաև գյուղը, որը 19-րդ դարի վերջում արդեն քաղաք էր դարձել։ Ֆլեմինգի թորման գործարանի շնորհիվ է, որ Աբերլաուերում հայտնվել են քաղաքակրթության այնպիսի նվաճումներ, ինչպիսիք են հեռագիրը, հեռախոսը և փողոցների լուսավորությունը: Այնուամենայնիվ, նույնիսկ տեղի բնակիչները չգիտեին Ֆլեմինգի գործարանի ազդեցության ամբողջ չափը: Իր բնական համեստության պատճառով Ջեյմս Ֆլեմինգը հարկ չի համարել բացահայտորեն բարեգործությամբ զբաղվել, և, հետևաբար, միայն նրա մահից հետո են քաղաքի բնակիչներն իմացել, որ քաղաքի հիվանդանոցը, անօթևանների ապաստարանը և նույնիսկ գետի վրայով անցնող կամուրջը կառուցվել են այդ նախաձեռնող մարդու փողերով։

Ֆլեմինգը մահացել է 1895 թվականին և թաղվել իր թորման գործարանից ոչ հեռու, բայց նրա մտահղացումը մինչև օրս հիացնում է միաածիկ վիսկիի գիտակներին:
