Փետրվարի 11-16-ը, Սուրբ Սարգսի տոնին ընդառաջ, Հայաստանի ազգային պատկերասրահի որմնանկարների սրահում կցուցադրվի 19-րդ դարի անհայտ հայ նկարչի «Սուրբ Սարգիս» սրբապատկերը:

«Սուրբ Սարգիս» կտավում պատկերված են հայոց եկեղեցու ամենասիրելի սրբերից մեկը` Սարգիս զորավարը, և նրա որդին` Մարտիրոսը, որոնք 14 զինվորների հետ նահատակվել են հանուն քրիստոնեության:

Կոստանդիանոս Ա կայսեր կողմից Կապադովկիայի իշխան և սպարապետ նշանակված Սուրբ Սարգիսը նաև քարոզիչ էր, նա քանդում էր իր իշխանության տակ գտնվող մեհյաններն ու կառուցում եկեղեցիներ՝ նպաստելով քրիստոնեական հավատքի տարածմանը:

Նրա կյանքի ու վարքի պատումները հաճախ են հանդիպում որմնանկարներում, միջնադարյան ձեռագրերում ու եկեղեցական կիրառական առարկաների վրա: Պատկերագրության մեջ Սուրբ Սարգիսը սովորաբար ներկայացվում է հեծյալ զորավարի կերպարանքով` վիշապին նիզակահարելիս: Հայ արվեստում հաճախ է հանդիպում որդու` Մարտիրոսի հետ պատկերման տարբերակը:

Նկարը Ազգային պատկերասրահ է բերվել Աշտարակի Կարմրավոր եկեղեցուց, որտեղ պահպանվել է նաև Սուրբ Սարգսին պատկերող 7-րդ դարի որմնանկար: Պահպանվել է տեղ-տեղ վնասված հետևյալ գրությունը` «Յիշատակ է, պատկեր ի Վարդազարի որդի Ստէփանին, որ …. ՌՆ Ամէնափրկիչ սբ եկեղեցուն ՄՀ թվն»:

Երիտասարդների և սիրո բարեխոս Սուրբ Սարգսի հիշատակության օրը հայ եկեղեցու տոներից է: Այն ընդունված է նշել թե՛ եկեղեցական ծիսակարգով ու աղոթքներով, թե՛ աշխարհիկ ավանդույթների համաձայն: Տոնին նախորդող գիշերը երիտասարդներն աղի բլիթ են ուտում, որի հետ կապում են իրենց ապագա ընտրյալի հայտնությունը երազում: Սովորույթներից է նաև փոխինձով մատուցարանը դնել տան տանիքին կամ պատշգամբին:

Ըստ ավանդույթի` եթե Սուրբ Սարգիսը հրեշտակների ուղեկցությամբ անցնում է և ալյուրի կամ փոխինձի վրա թողնում ձիու պայտի հետքը, ապա այդ տարի իրականանում են երազանքները:

Երիտասարդներն այս օրը միմյանց բացիկներ և քաղցրավենիք են նվիրում: Տոնի առթիվ Սուրբ Սարգիս Զորավարի անունը կրող եկեղեցիներում մատուցվում է պատարագ և կատարվում է երիտասարդների օրհնության կարգ:
