Ադրբեջանը շտապում է միջանցքային տրամաբանությամբ Նախիջևանի հետ կապ ստանալու հարցում ոչ միայն այն պատճառով, որ Հայաստանի իշխանությունը նրանց համար նախապայմաններով խոսելու և օրակարգ թելադրելու հնարավորություն է ստեղծել, այլ որ Նախիջևանի վրա ազդեցության և ինչու չէ` վերահսկման առումով լուռ, իսկ երբեմն` երևացող, պայքար է ընթանում Թուրքիայի ու Իրանի միջև:
Վերջին 10-15 տարիների ընթացքում Թուրքիան խորը ինտեգրացիոն ծրագրեր է իրականացնում Նախիջևանում` մշակութայինից մինչև զինված ուժեր:
Մի պահ Ադրբեջանն այնքան մոտ էր վերահսկողությունը կորցնելուն, որ մի քանի տարի առաջ, արմատական փոփոխություններ իրականացրեց Նախիջևանի կառավարման համակարգում, պաշտոնից ազատեց գրեթե բոլոր ազդեցիկ դեմքերին և Բաքվից` իր համար խիստ վստահելի դեմքեր նշանակեց:
Առհասարակ նախիջևանյան կլանը, Հեյդար Ալիևի մահից հետո, որքան էլ առաջին հայացքից տարօրինակ երևա, ոչ միայն դուրս է մղվում էլիտայից, այլ նրանցից շատերի նկատմամբ հետապնդումներ են սկսվում:
Իլհամ Ալիևի նպատակային քաղաքականությամբ, իսկ, միգուցե, որոշ դեպքերում անկախ իր կամքից, երկրի ներսում, վերջին տասնամյակում ադրբեջանական էլիտան խիստ փոփոխություններ է կրել, որում մեծ դեր ունի Ալիևի կինը (նրա ընտանիքը) և Թուրքիայի իշխանությունը:
Հատկապես 44-օրյա պատերազմից հետո, Ալիևի խորը դիմադրության պայմաններում, թուրքական ազդեցությունն ադրբեջանական պրոցեսներում բավականին աճել է, որի դրսևորումները, նաև դժգոհության տեսքով, որոշակի պարբերականությամբ արտահայտվում են նաև հրապարակային դաշտում:
