Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկին NBC News-ին տված հարցազրույցում ներկայացրել է ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի հետ համագործակցությամբ իր երկրում պատերազմը դադարեցնելու իր տեսլականը՝ հասկացնելով, որ երբեք չի ընդունի առանց Ուկրաինայի մասնակցության ԱՄՆ-ի և Ռուսաստանի կնքած խաղաղության համաձայնագիրը։

«Ես երբեք Ուկրաինայի հարցով ԱՄՆ-ի և Ռուսաստանի միջև կայացված որևէ որոշում չեմ ընդունի, երբեք,- ուրբաթ օրը Մյունխենում «Հանդիպումներ մամուլի հետ»-ի մոդերատոր Քրիստեն Ուելքերին ասել է Զելենսկին։- Սա պատերազմ է Ուկրաինայում՝ մեր դեմ, և սրանք մեր մարդկային կորուստներն են»։

Խոսելով Ուկրաինայի և Ռուսաստանի միջև պատերազմը դադարեցնելու համար բանակցություններ սկսելու հնարավորության մասին՝ Զելենսկին կոչ է արել եվրոպացի դաշնակիցներին նույնպես նստել բանակցությունների սեղանի շուրջ՝ զգուշացնելով, թե ինչ կարող է լինել ՆԱՏՕ-ի հետ, եթե Ռուսաստանը չկանգնեցվի կամ եթե Միացյալ Նահանգները դուրս գա դաշինքից։

Վկայակոչելով ռուսաստանյան բանակի Բելառուսում անցկացվող զորավարժությունների մասին Ուկրաինայի հետախուզության տվյալները, որոնք  Ուկրաինան ներկայացրել է իր դաշնակիցներին, Զելենսկին նախազգուշացրել է «արդեն այս ամառ  Եվրոպայի այլ երկրներ ռուսաստանյան ավելի մեծ ներխուժման» հեռանկարի մասին:

Զելենսկին կրկնել է իր ուղերձը ԱՄՆ փոխնախագահ Ջ. Դ․ Վենսին, որի հետ ուրբաթ ավելի վաղ հանդիպել էր Մյունխենում, հայտարարելով, որ եթե ԱՄՆ-ն դուրս գա ՆԱՏՕ-ից, «դա ՆԱՏՕ-ի կործանում կնշանակի»։

Նա հայտարարել է, որ «առանց ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից ռազմական հատուցման սպառնալիքի, Ռուսաստանը կսկսի գրավել Եվրոպայի որոշ հատվածներ, հատկապես նախկին խորհրդային հանրապետությունների տարածքները»։

Ուկրաինայի նախագահը հավելել է, որ ՆԱՏՕ-ի եվրոպական անդամները չունեն ռազմական ներուժ՝ առանց ԱՄՆ-ի օգնության իրենց պաշտպանելու համար։
