Ավստրալիայի գլխավոր բժիշկները զգուշացնում են, որ «հիդրատացիայի կլինիկաները», որոնք առաջարկում են ներերակային կաթիլային ներարկումներ և վիտամինային «կոկտեյլներ», «ամբողջությամբ ժամանակի ու գումարի կորուստ են» և կարող են անցանկալի վնասներ պատճառել:

Կլինիկաները հավաստիացնում են, որ ներարկումները հիդրատացնում, խոնավացնում են մարմինը, հեռացնում թունանյութերը իմունիտետը բարձրացնելու ընթացքում և բարելավում են մազերը, մաշկը և եղունգները: Այս ներարկումները արդեն տարածված են հայտնիների շրջանում: Դրանց դիմել են Ռիաննան, Մադոննան ու Նատալի Իմբրուլիան:

Կլինիկաները տարիներ շարունակ հայտնի են Լաս Վեգասում ու Իբիցայում: Վերջերս հասել են նաև Ավստրալիա: 30 օր տևող վիտամին C ներարկումը արժի 249$ և սպավում է, որ այն կբարձրացնի իմունիտետը, կկրճատի մրսածությունը կամ գրիպը, կարտադրի կոլագեն, կնվազեցնի կնճիռները, կխթանի մազերի ու եղունգների աճը և կպայքարի վիրուսային հիվանդությունների դեմ:

Ամենաթանկ ներարկումը, որը պետք է «ամրացնի, մաքրի ու հեռացնի թունանյութերը», արժի 349$: Սակայն բժիշկները նշել են, որ այն ժամանակի ու փողի կորուստ է և կարող է վնասակար լինել: Առաջին հերթին վնասը կգա երակի մեջ ոչ անհրաժեշտ, ավելորդ ներարկիչ մտցնելուց:

Դրանք կարող են խլերի, բորբոքումների պատճառ դառնալ և վնասել զարկերակը կամ նյարդը: Ընդհանուր առմամբ մարդկանց տալիս են վիտամիններ, որոնց կարիքը չի զգացվում, և որոնք վերջում արտաթորվում են մեզի միջոցով: Դրա փոխարեն գումարը կարելի է ծախսել թարմ միրգ ու բանջարեղեն գնելու վրա:
Այնուամենայնիվ սա բավականին տարածված է վերջին ժամանակներում:
