Ռուսաստանի հայերի միության նախագահ Արա Աբրահամյանն ամուսնացել է 1987 թվականին։
Նրա կինն ազգությամբ ռուս է։
Մի առիթով Արա Աբրահամյանը պատմել է, թե ինչպես է սկսվել իր և կնոջ հարաբերությունները, գրում է Shabat.am-ը:
«Իմ բախտը նրա հարցում բերել է։ Նա մյուսների կանանցից լավն է, թե վատը, չեմ կարող ասել, բայց կարող եմ ասել, որ ինձ համար նրանից լավը չկա։ Ես նրան ճանաչել եմ դեռ մանկուց։ Բանն այն է, որ առաջին հերթին ծանոթացել եմ իր հոր հետ։ Այդ ժամանակ ես միավորման տնօրեն էի, իսկ ապագա անեերս զբաղեցնում էր ղեկավարի պաշտոնը եւ գավառից Մոսկվա էր տեղափոխվել։
Դա 80-ականների սկզբին էր, այնպես որ Նատաշան, կարելի է ասել, մոսկվացի է։
Ես եւ իր հայրը լավ հարաբերություններ ունեինք, մենք սկսեցինք ընկերություն անել, նա պարբերաբար Հայաստան էր այցելում եւ մեզ հյուր գալիս, իսկ երբ ես էի Մոսկվա գնում, իրենց էի հյուր գնում։
Նատաշան այդ ժամանակ դեռեւս փոքր աղջիկ էր, դպրոց էր հաճախում, կարո՞ղ էի արդյոք մտածել, որ նա իմ երեխաների մայրը կդառնա…
Ամեն ինչ սկսվեց նրանից, երբ ես իմ աներոջը հրավիրեցի իմ միջնեկ եղբոր՝ Գագիկի հարսանիքին։
Նա Հայաստան ժամանեց ընտանիքի հետ։ Այդ ժամանակ Նատաշան դեռ 17 տարեկան էր, իսկ ես՝ հասուն տղամարդ։
Ապագա աներս ասաց. «Նա իմ միակ աղջիկն է, հուսամ, որ դու հասուն ու պատասխանատու անձնավորություն ես»։
Մենք յոթ օր յոթ գիշեր հարսանիք արեցինք ինչպես Երեւանում, այնպես էլ Մոսկվայում։ Ամեն անգամ հարսանիքին ներկա էր յոթանասունից ութսուն հոգի։
Իհարկե, իմ եւ Նատաշայի միջեւ տարիքային տարբերությունը մեծ է։ Իհարկե, ընտանեկան հասկացողության մեջ «տարիքային տարբերություն» ասվածը չկա։ Ես իմ կնոջից մեծ եմ տասներկու տարով»,- պատմում է Արա Աբրահամյանը։
