 Հայաստանի արտաքին քաղաքական և տնտեսական գործունեությունը պետք է միտված լինի նրան, որ երկիրը գրավիչ լինի Մետաքսի ճանապարհի տնտեսական գոտու վերականգման առումով, իսկ այդ ուղղությամբ շատ կարևոր է հայ-իրանական տնտեսական կապերի խորացումն ու ընդլայնումը: «Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում նման համոզմունք հայտնեց ԱԺ ԲՀԿ խմբակցության պատգամավոր Միքայել Մելքումյանը՝ անդրադառնալով հ այ-իրանական տնտեսական կապերի ընդլայնման հնարավորություններին: «Մենք պետք է հասկանանք, թե ինչպես են խոշոր երկրները՝ Չինաստանը, Հնդկաստանը, Իրանը, որոնք ներգրավված են Մետաքի ճանապարհի այդ տնտեսական գոտու վերականգման մեջ և շահագրգռված են դրանով, Հայաստանը դիտարկում որպես ենթակառուցվածքային ուղի: Կարծեմ նրանք այլ տարբերակներ ևս ունեն: Ուստի մեր արտաքին քաղաքականությունը պետք է միտված լինի նրան, որ Հայաստանն այդ առումով գրավիչ լինի այդ երկրների համար»,- ընդգծեց պատգամավորը:

Մելքումյանի խոսքով՝ առաջին հերթին շատ կարևոր է, որպեսզի այդ երկրների համար նպաստավոր ու ընդունելի պայմաններ ստեղծվեն, որպեսզի Հայաստանի միջոցով տարանցելը շահավետ լինի բոլոր կողմերի համար: Պատգամավորն այն կարծիքին է, որ Հայաստանն ունի բոլոր հնարավորությունները Մետաքսի ճանապարհին տրանզիտ երկիր դառնալու համար և պետք է օգտագործի այդ հնարավորությունը: Նա հավելեց, որ այդ առումով դրական է գնահատում ցանկացած տիպի ենթակառուցվածքային ծրագրի իրականացում, որ կյանքի կկոչեն Հայաստանը և Իրանը:

Միքայել Մելքումյանը Իրանը Հայաստանի համար բարեկամ երկիր է համարում, որին, սակայն, Հայաստանում այդքան էլ լավ չեն «ճանաչում»: Պատգամավորն այն կարծիքին է, որ առաջին հերթին հարկավոր է էապես խորացնել հայ-իրանական միջխորհրդարանական համագործակցությունը, որտեղ արմատական բարեփոխումների կարիք ու անհրաժեշտություն կա:

Թեհրանում ՀՀ տրանսպորտի և կապի նախարար Գագիկ Բեգլարյանի վարած բանակցությունների արդյունքում պայմանավորվածություն է ձեռք բերվել Հնդկաստանը Իրանի, Հայաստանի, Վրաստանի տարածքով ու Սև ծովով Եվրոպային կապող միջազգային տրանսպորտային ուղու ստեղծման վերաբերյալ: Դեկտեմբերի 24-ին ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը հեռախոսազրույց է ունեցել Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության նախագահ Հասան Ռոուհանիի հետ: Զրուցակիցները համակարծիք են եղել, որ անհրաժեշտ կամքի դրսևորման պարագայում, բանակցությունների շնորհիվ կարելի է լուծումներ գտնել ցանկացած հարցում: Ռ ոուհանին ընդգծել է Հայաստանի հետ բարիդրացիական, սերտ գործընկերային հարաբերությունների առավել ամրապնդման, գործակցության ընդլայնման և խորացման ուղղությամբ ակտիվ աշխատանք իրականացնելու իր երկրի պատրաստակամությունը: Նախագահները կարևորել են շարունակել երկու երկրների համատեղ ջանքերի շնորհիվ արդյունավետ և անխափան համագործակցությունը բարձր մակարդակով ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածությունների և հեռանկարային նոր նախաձեռնությունների իրագործման ուղղությամբ` առավելագույնս օգտագործելով առկա ողջ ներուժը, համաձայնեցվել են առաջիկա հանդիպում ների ծրագրերը:
