Տեխասի նահանգից սենատոր Թեդ Քրուզը Այովա նահանգում կայացած նախնական ընտրություններում առաջ է անցել Հանրապետական կուսակցությունից իր մրցակից Դոնալդ Թրամփից: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, փետրվարի 2-ին հաղորդել է BBC News-ը: Երրորդ տեղը գրավել է Ֆլորիդայի նահանգից սենատոր Մարկո ՌուբÕ �ոն:
Թրամփը բոլոր թեկնածուներին շնորհավորել է կայացած քվեարկության առթիվ եւ ասել, որ իր համար «մեծ պատիվ է» զբաղեցնել երկրորդ տեղը: Նա վստահություն է հայտնել, որ նախագահի թեկնածու է առաջադրվելու Հանրապետական կուսակցությունից եւ նշել է, որ կարող էր ագարակ գնել Այովայում:
Ըստ նախնական արդյունքների՝ հանրապետական ներկայացուցիչների միջեւ ձայները բաշխվել են հետեւյալ կերպ. Թեդ Քրուզն ստացել է ձայների 27,7 տոկոսը, Դոնալդ Թրամփը՝ 24,4 տոկոսը, Մարկո Ռուբիոն՝ 23 տոկոսը, Բեն Քարսոնը՝ 9,3 տոկոսը: Մնացած թեկնածուները 5 տոկոսից պակաս ձայներ են հավաքել:
Ինչ վերաբերում Է Դեմոկրատական կուսակցության քվեարկության արդյունքներին, ապա ձայների գրեթե 89 տոկոսի հաշվումից հետո Հիլարի Քլինթոնի եւ Բեռնի Սանդերսի միջեւ տարբերությունը 1 տոկոսից պակաս է:
