Շվեյցարիայի զինված ուժերի ղեկավար Թոմաս Զյուսլին Der Sonntagsblick թերթին ասել է, որ երկիրը կարող է զինվորներ ուղարկել Ուկրաինա՝ ՄԱԿ-ի խաղաղապահ առաքելության շրջանակներում։

Զինված ուժերի ղեկավարը հայտնել է, որ համապատասխան հրամանը ստանալու դեպքում կմշակվի շվեյցարացի զինվորականների պատրաստման հայեցակարգ, որը թույլ կտա նրանց վարժեցնել և նախապատրաստել գործողությանը։ Դրանից հետո կսկսվի նրանց հավաքագրումը։

«Մոտավորապես 9-12 ամսում մենք կարող ենք շուրջ 200 զինվոր պատրաստել»,- ասել է Զյուսլին։

Նա հավելել է, որ խաղաղապահ գործողությունների ժամանակ զինված ուժերը կարող են զենք կիրառել ինքնապաշտպանության համար։ Վեց ամիս հետո դրանք փոխվում են։ Զյուսլին ընդգծել է, որ իր խոսքերը զուտ հիպոթետիկ են, քանի որ Ուկրաինայում խաղաղություն դեռ չի կնքվել, ՄԱԿ-ից ոչ մի հարցում չի եղել, իսկ զորքերի տեղակայման մասին որոշումը պետք է կայացնեն Շվեյցարիայի կառավարությունն ու խորհրդարանը։

Փետրվարի 23-ին The Wall Street Journal-ը, հղում անելով աղբյուրներին, գրել էր, որ բրիտանական և ֆրանսիական իշխանությունները ուսումնասիրում են մինչև 30 հազար խաղաղապահ Ուկրաինա ուղարկելու հնարավորությունը։ Լոնդոնն ու Փարիզն այս քայլը կապում են հրադադարի համաձայնագրի ձեռքբերման հետ: Երկրները ցանկանում են օգտագործել ԱՄՆ-ի ռազմական հնարավորությունները՝ պաշտպանելու իրենց բանակը սպառնալիքներից: Այդ նպատակով կարող են օգտագործվել արդեն Եվրոպայում գտնվող ամերիկյան հակաօդային պաշտպանության համակարգերը։
