Ուկրաինայի նախագահն ուրբաթ այցելել է Սպիտակ տուն՝ հազվագյուտ օգտակար հանածոների վերաբերյալ համաձայնագիր ստորագրելու համար, սակայն նրա հանդիպումը ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի հետ սկանդալի է վերածվել համաշխարհային լսարանի առջեւ, գրել է The Guardian-ը։
Լարվածությունը սկսել է աճել, երբ լրագրողը հարցրել է Ուկրաինայի առաջնորդին, թե ինչու նա հանդիպմանը կոստյում չի հագել։
«Ինչո՞ւ կոստյում չեք հագնում: Կոստյում ունե՞ք», - հարցրել է թղթակիցը:
«Դուք ինչ-որ խնդիրներ ունե՞ք»,- ի պատասխան հարցրել է Զելենսկին։
«Շատ ամերիկացիներ խնդիր ունեն այն մարդկանց հետ, ովքեր չեն հետեւում Օվալաձեւ գրասենյակի դրես-կոդին»,- արձագանքել է թղթակիցը։
«Պատերազմի ավարտից հետո կոստյում կհագնեմ, այո։ Գուցե ձերի նման մի բան, գուցե ավելի լավը: Չգիտեմ, տեսնենք։ Գուցե ինչ-որ ավելի էժան բան: Շնորհակալություն»,- պատասխանել է Ուկրաինայի նախագահը։
Բրիտանական լրատվամիջոցներից մեկի համաձայն՝ պաշտոնական միջոցառումների ժամանակ կոստյում կրելը կարող է մեկնաբաններին մղել պնդելու, որ Զելենսկին լուրջ չի ընդունում Ռուսաստանի հետ հակամարտությունը կամ պատերազմը դեպի անկում է գնում:
Խիստ կարեւոր է, որ Ուկրաինայի նախագահը շարունակի ազդանշան տալ, որ պատերազմ է. նա դեռեւս պայքարում է դրա դեմ եւ օգնության կարիք ունի:
Հիշեցնենք, որ երեկ բանակցությունների ընթացքում ԱՄՆ եւ Ուկրաինայի նախագահները սկսել են բարձրաձայն խոսել։ Թրամփը Զելենսկուն մեղադրել է երախտամոռության մեջ։ Վեճին միացել է նաեւ ԱՄՆ փոխնախագահը։
Ավելի ուշ Թրամփը հայտնել է, որ Զելենսկին պատրաստ չէ խաղաղության։
Որոշ ժամանակ անց Թրամփ-Զելենսկի մամուլի ասուլիսը չեղարկվել է, իսկ հանքանյութերի գործարքը՝ հետաձգվել։
Ավելի ուշ ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Մարկո Ռուբիոն հարցազրույց է տվել CNN-ին, որի ժամանակ հայտնել է, որ Ուկրաինայի նախագահը պետք է ներողություն խնդրի ԱՄՆ նախագահից։ Միաժամանակ, Ուկրաինայի նախագահը Fox News-ի հարցազրույցում ասել է, որ հարկ չի համարում ներողություն խնդրել Դոնալդ Թրամփից։
