Այսօր Հայաստանի Ազգային հերոս, Արցախի հերոս, սպարապետ Վազգեն Սարգսյանի ծննդյան օրն է։

Սպարապետն այսօր կդառնար 66 տարեկան:

Վազգեն Սարգսյանի արած գործն անուրանալի է հայ ազգի համար։ Սպարապետի մասին մինչ օրս հիշում են հիացմունքով, թախիծով և հպարտությամբ, քանի որ սպարապետի պես մարդիկ լույս աշխարհ են գալիս 100 տարին մեկ անգամ։

1․ Դարերի մեռած պատմությունը թափ տվեք ձեր հոգուց, մի մեռեք ձեր տան մեջ: Ձեր հոգու մեռելներին թաղեք: Էս երկիրը ձերը չէ, դուք գալիս-անցնում եք, ձերը էս երկրի սիրտը պահելն է: Սիրտը:

2․ Յուրաքանչյուր ժողովուրդ՝ լինի 3 միլիոնանոց, թե 300 միլիոնանոց, միշտ իր միջից կարող է հանել այնքան մարդ, որոնք կարող են երկիրը պահպանել։

3․ Ինձ ժողովուրդը չի ճանաչում: Ինձ նորմալ ճանաչում են իմ նեղ շրջապատի մարդիկ: Մնացյալը գիտեն ինձ մորուքով, գիտեն ջղայնացած, գիտեն քրտնած, այսօրվա եղած կերպարը դա է:

4․ Չգիտեմ՝ համաշխարհայի՞ն ազգ ենք, թե՞ ոչ, բայց պարտավոր ենք համաշխարհային գործոն դառնալ, դա փաստ է։

5․ Ես երջանիկ մարդ եմ: Որովհետև ինձ պատիվ ընձեռվեց իրականացնել այն երազանքները, որպիսիք փայփայում էինք գրողներս, լրագրողներս: Բայց դա բախտի բան չէ, ես եմ ընտրել իմ ճանապարհը: Երբ այդ ուղին ընտրեցի, չգիտեի, որ նախարար եմ դառնալու: Իմ գրած նախադասությունների համար չեմ կարմրում, կեղծիք չկա: Ես հիմա էլ, որպես պաշտպանության նախարար, ինչ անում եմ, դարձյալ կեղծիք չկա: Սխալմունքներ կան, բայց կեղծիք չկա:

6․ Ավելի լավ է մեկ մոմ վառել, քան հավերժ բողոքել խավարից:

7․ Ես աշխարհում ամենից շատ սիրում եմ ծերերին և երեխաներին, այդ երկուսն են անպաշտպան:

8․ Մենք ընտիր-ընտիր հպատակ ենք, մենք խելոք-խելոք կատարող ենք, մենք հայտնագործություն ենք ուրիշի ձեռքի տակ: Հայ մարդ, հիմա ուրիշը դու ես: Քո ուրիշը դու ես:

9․ Բանակն ազգի ինքնաճանաչման հայելին է, բոլոր հայերի ծնունդն է, հայության հավաքական կերպարն է, նրա պատասխանատվությունը, նրա պատմության վերագնահատումը և հայացքը ապագային։ Սիրուն խոսքեր չեմ ասում, ընդամենը ճշմարտությունն եմ ասում։

10․ Աշխարհի ուժեղները, տեսեք, թե ուր են հասել, իսկ մենք դեռ մտածում ենք’ շտապել, թե չշտապել, «ըսել, թե չըսել»: Ինչի՞ն սպասել՝ Հայաստանի տնտեսության վերջնական կանգառի՞ն… Հայաստանի հայաթափմա՞նը, թե՞ մինչեւ աղանդավորները առաքելականներիցս ավելի մեծ թիվ կկազմեն…
