Եվրոպական անվտանգությանն առնչվող բոլոր քայլերը պետք է պլանավորվեն Թուրքիայի հետ համատեղ. այս մասին ասել է Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը՝ ընդգծելով, որ դա կբխի ընդհանուր շահերից: Այս մասին գրում է  Anadolu-ն:

«Թուրքիայի հետ միասին եվրոպական անվտանգությանն առնչվող բոլոր քայլերի պլանավորումը կբխի մեր ընդհանուր շահերից»,- ասել է Էրդողանը տեսակոնֆերանսի միջոցով ԵՄ-ի կողմից կազմակերպված «Համախոհ առաջնորդների հանդիպման» մասնակիցներին ուղղված տեսաուղերձում։

Նրա խոսքով՝ «Թուրքիայի դուրս մնալը ԵՄ պաշտպանական և վերակառուցման ծրագրերից անհիմն է և անընդունելի»։

Թուրքիայի նախագահը նաև ասել է Եվրամիությանը Թուրքիայի անդամակցության շուրջ բանակցությունները վերսկսելու անհրաժեշտության մասին՝ ընդգծելով Անկարայի ռազմավարական դերը եվրոպական անվտանգության և տնտեսական հարցերում։

«Եվրոպայի տնտեսական անվտանգությունն ու պաշտպանությունը հստակ ցույց է տալիս Թուրքիայի կարևոր նշանակությունը։ Մենք հաստատակամորեն պահպանում ենք ԵՄ-ին լիիրավ անդամակցության նպատակը և հույս ունենք, որ Միությունը տեսլական մոտեցում կցուցաբերի և կվերսկսի բանակցությունները»,- ասել է Էրդողանը։

Թուրքիայի ղեկավարը նաև նշել է, որ եվրոպական պաշտպանական արդյունաբերության ծրագրերը պետք է բաց լինեն բոլոր եվրոպական դաշնակիցների համար, իսկ Թուրքիան պետք է ներառվի Խաղաղության եվրոպական հիմնադրամի մեխանիզմներում։
