Երևանի բուսաբանական այգին պարզաբանում   է տարածել կաղնի տեսակի ծառահատումների վերաբերյալ: Պարզաբանման մեջ մասնավորապես ասվում է.

«Երևանի բուսաբանական այգու ծառահատումների հետ կապված ներկայիս տնօրեն՝ Ժաննա Հովակիմյանը որևէ կապ չունի և իր օրոք ոչ մի կաղնի և ոչ մի ծառ չի կտրվել։

Համաձայն ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Ա. Թախտաջյանի անվան Բուսաբանության ինստիտուտի տնօրենի 2025թ-ի մարտի 17-ի 15-Լ հրամանի մասնագիտական հանձնախմբի մասնակցությամբ՝ Ժիրայր Վարդանյան, Նորիկ Շատոյան, Աշոտ Բոգդանյան, Նաիրա Պողոսյան, Արթուր Պետրոսյան, Մերինե Սարգսյան 2025թ-ի մարտի 17-ին Երևանի բուսաբանական այգու դենդրոհավաքածուների հողամասում իրականացրել են կաղնու ծառուղու դիտարկում, ուսումնասիրություն։ Արդյունքում պարզվել է, որ ծառուղու երկարությամբ առկա էին մոտ 30 հատ հատված կոճղեր, ակնադիտական եղանակով դիտարկելիս ակնհայտ է, որ մեկ տասնյակից ավելի քանակությամբ կոճղերն ունեն մի քանի տարիների հատման վաղեմություն։ Մոտ 20 հատ կոճղեր հատվել են 2024 թ-ի աշնանը։ Հատված կաղնու ծառերի կենսունակության աստիճանի որոշումը պահանջում է համալիր դենդրոչափական ուսումնասիրություն»,- ասվում է պարզաբանման մեջ։

Ծառահատման մասին ահազանգած քաղաքացիական ակտիվիստ Էդուարդ Հայրումյանը գրում է. «Քանի որ չկա որևէ խոսք այգու պաշտոնյաների կողմից օրինապահ մարմիններին դիմելու մասին, ապա այս պատասխանը, մեղմ ասած, շատ վատն է։ Ես այսօր առավոտ 10:00-ից այգում էի և անձամբ ներկա եմ գտնվել «դիտարկմանը»։

2024 թվականին այգում հատվել է առնվազն 20 հատ կաղնու ծառ։ Այգու տնօրենն իրոք նոր է նշանակվել (մինչև ծառերի հատումը), անձամբ եմ այսօր շփվել և որպես անձ միայն դրականը տեսա իրենից։

Բայց նաև շփվել եմ այգու մյուս պաշտոնյաների հետ (նաև անձամբ հրաման տվողի և անձամբ ծառերը հատողի) ու ոչ մի պաշտոնատար անձ չկարողացավ ներկայացնել հատման մասին որևէ թուղթ, ինչից ենթադրվում, որ հատումը (իսկ իրականում սպանդը) անօրինական էր, ո՛չ հիմնավորված էր, ո՛չ փաստաթղթավորված, ո՛չ հրաման կար, ոչ էլ հատման տոմս»։
